This allows work placement students to work onsite in certain circumstances. Covers all general OH&S content but will require industry specific safety training to be taught. Thermal cutting exercises that include straight line cutting, wheel guided, straight line cutting angle iron guided, free hand cutting, circle cutting guided, circle cutting free hand and bevel cutting. Gather evidence towards MEM10.24A Apply quality procedures by observing planning and orgainising skills and quality of the work done during the skill exercises.

Arrangements for teaching and learning in this cluster: These units best assessed through the manufacture of an integrated project which includes exercises to build skills and knowledge and a machined project to put those skills to use. Scratch gauges, plumb bob, sash clamp. MEM12023A Perform engineering measurements . Skill exercises would likely include: machine to diameter exercise, measuring tools exercises covering micrometers, vernier callipers, feeler gauges, radius gauges, depth gauges and thread pitch gauges. Some of these skills reinforced and seen in practical projects. MEM14004A Plan to undertake a routine task could be covered through student job planning sheets. MEM12024A Perform computations. Obtain suitable worksheets through the Maths department, which will cover competency areas outlined in the syllabus.
