Parent Spotlight Muriel Kimpson

Mrs. Kimpson is the grandmother of CSKYWLA Scholar Tamira Johnson and has been an active supporter since her granddaughter was in the sixth grade. Mrs. Kimpson loves the curriculum and the opportunities that are provided for the students. She also expressed her love for Principal Lakes stating that she is doing a great job and has taken the school to another level. Her advice to the young ladies; Take advantage of the opportunities that are given to you to ensure success in the near future.

Ms. Raioni Madison joined the team and hit the ground running! Thank you for being proactive and getting the job done. The support team is data driven! Student survey data was disaggregated and used to form small counseling groups. Shout out to Dr. Venning for the We were there segment during the evening performance of the Black History Program. It was very informative and well done! Mrs. Lewis deserves a big hug for producing her first Black History program. Thank you! Shout out to Ms. Adams for coordinating the YouthVibe After School and serving as the liaison for the Mayor Shirley Clarke Franklin Series Shout out to Ms. Scott for coordinating the Speak Life Initiative. Shout out to the faculty and 9th grade students who started the DHS College Bound after-school program!

Student Spotlight
Moniecia Washington
Moniecia has been a CSKYWLA Eagle since the eighth grade. When asked what she likes most about being a CSKYWLA Eagle she said the band. While she is not a part of the Academy Marching band right now she is excited about joining them in the fall of 2013. She believes that she is learning a lot by being a student here and appreciates the opportunities that are provided to her. Moniecia plans to join the military band after graduation and attend college to study music in hopes of one day being a professional musician.
