I would tell them to take advantage of the time they have to bond with their future sisters. Take their time to get to know one another because they will be the sisters who will help them through the process, as well as in the future.
Being chosen as the sister of the month for February was such an honor for Vanessa Florian. Her hard work and dedication had been acknowledged and she stated feeling so grateful to have such wonderful, loving sisters! We all know that KDChi would be nothing without service. Vanessa strongly believes this; she is the most dedicated when it comes to finding volunteer opportunities for the sorority, which makes her fit her position as service chair so perfectly. Being service chair is a very time consuming task, but this does not stop Vanessa from getting the job done. As a show of our appreciation for her, our Sister of the Month dinner is scheduled soon to take place at Hooters. We cant wait to satisfy that craving for wings with you, Vanessa! Keep up the good work!

So many doors will open up for you when you join KDChi. From getting the hook up with a waitressing at a restaurant during college to getting recommended for an internship; this sisterhood is all about networking.
The Ladies of Kappa Delta Chi took their role as penguins seriously this winter. It started off when our advisor, Ross Wantland invited us to join him on the Quad for the C-U at Home One Winter Night event to help raise awareness for the homeless. At first, we did not know how sleeping on the Quad on a cold winter night would help raise awareness for the homeless; however, we wanted to go out and support our amazing advisor. That night we traveled in our penguin pack to the Quad and began building our shelter out of card board boxes. We were given a brown paper-bag filled with a PB&J sandwich, crackers, and other snacks. Coffee was also available, just like C-U at Home distributes to the homeless. As we spent hours adjusting, repositioning and cuddling for body warmth for hours, we realized how difficult and unfortunate it is to have to spend every night in this situation. We could not wait to go back to our heated apartments, warm beds filled with blankets, and refrigerators full of food. Not everyone is able to have these basic necessities. By participating in this event we were able to gain a new perspective about homelessness. No matter how frozen our fingers and toes felt, this was a worthwhile experience and we encourage others to participate in it next year because this one night will have a great impact on your life. As penguins dedicated to service, we were inspired to create a service project to help aid the homeless and encourage others to do so as well. -Xochitl Carmona

Really value the time as actives and take advantage of the sisterhood. You never know when youll need your sisters. They are a great support system, especially when you need that extra motivation.
