Introduction This section presents the course structure and instructional methods and media.

Course Structure

1.

The TATS MOS 51K10 Plumber Course consists of six training modules. Each module represents a grouping of one or more lessons. The course and module maps (Appendix B) graphically depict a sequential structuring of the modules presented in this course. The Fort Leonard Wood TATS course during peacetime is 5 weeks, 1 days in length. The TATS course during mobilization is 3 weeks, 1 days in length. For the reserve component (RC), modules are taught either during inactive duty training (IDT), active duty training (ADT), or through distance learning (DL). a. Module A, Common Engineer Training, is conducted in accordance with the skill level 1 CET POI. b. Module B, Module C (PFN 051-51K1-C03 ONLY), and Module D are taught during IDT. c. Module D, All of the conference parts of the TSP are taught during the IDT. D02s TE2 will be completed after its CO. All other parts of the TSP will be taught during ADT Module E, All of the conference parts of the TSP are taught during the IDT.E01s TE2 will be completed after its CO. Instructional Methods and Media

1. Six of the instructional methods mandated by TRADOC Regulation 350-70 are employed in this course to train, reinforce, and test students in the skills required for MOS 51K10. These instructional methods are defined below. METHOD CO Conference DEFINITION A method which employs directed discussion of a topic involving group participation that is student-centered but instructor controlled. The instructor and support personnel show and explain the operation or action to the students. The student is expected to be able to perform the operation or action after the demonstration. Students are required to perform the action required by the learning objective under controlled conditions to the established standards. Performance is on actual equipment to include simulators and training devices. Students are required to perform the action required by the learning objective under controlled conditions to the established standards. Performance does not involve actual equipment and is generally paper-based. Students are evaluated on their performance of the action required by the learning objective. 2. The instructional media used in this course include printed materials, visual and audio materials, and actual equipment.
