7-12 Transition Update

In September 2014, PDCI will follow the existing UCDSB model for high schools and become a grade 712 learning center. Two meetings and an organized tour have already happened as the planning process unfolds. Students, parents, staff, and community members have attended the meetings to both learn about and provide input into the plan. The final meeting is organized for April 3. At this meeting the report from the committee will be presented. The report has four areas of focus: Facility organization, Communication, Safe and Welcoming Environment, and Programming considerations. The committee has looked at the Opportunities, Concerns, and Considerations in each of these areas. The meetings have been open to the public, and many have attended. We would like to provide a venue for people who have not made the meetings to also provide input. Please list any ideas about the opportunities, concerns or things to consider that you might have and provide to the school. They can be dropped off at the office, or emailed to mgs@live.ucdsb.ca

Visitors to the School

Please remember that to other children you may be a stranger. All visitors entering the school must report to the office to sign in and obtain a visitor's badge. Prior to leaving, please sign out and return your visitor's badge. Anyone wandering through the school without appropriate identification will be asked to go to the office. We will be happy to relay messages, lunches, etc. to your child should it be necessary. Please help us to monitor a safe and welcoming environment for your children and to keep interruptions to your child's learning to a minimum. Thank you!!

Former Student Returns as Student Teacher

Miss McCaws class welcomed former student and co-op student, Grace Umpherson for the week of Feb. 19th22nd. Grace is currently studying Concurrent Education at Nipissing and was in the Gr. 2/3 class as a student teacher. Grace will return to the Gr. 2/3 class for a second block at the end of April.
