NRMP/ERAS Pre-Residency Planning Timeline

This timeline is a chronological listing of the steps you must complete, beginning between twelve and sixteen months prior to the Match. It takes you through the residency process, up until you are ready to get licensed in the state of your residency program. For details on each process, please read the Pre-Residency Planning Guide, which will be available on MyRoss in late March for the following years Match. This timeline is designed to let you know exactly what you should be doing and when you should be completing all pre-residency processes, as it is arranged according to the time of year you should be completing each step. If you follow the timetable by reading and completing all the corresponding information and steps at the appropriate time of year, it should make for a smooth progression toward residency. This timeline is set to begin the year prior to your anticipated Match year. Year Prior to Match: January October Apply for Your MSPE through MyRoss - You will be notified via email when you are eligible. - You will need a CV and Personal Statement. Graduation Residency

ECFMG Certification - The ECFMG Certification process begins automatically upon your graduation date and degree audit clearance from the Ross University Registrars Office. You do not need to do anything to begin this process, but should keep informed of your degree audit status. Complete State Licensure - Send appropriate licensure documents to the Ross University Office of Student and Professional Development
