WATER

Wide Horse Stance Look forward R hand over L kidney L arm extends.

Keep stance Circle L arm down Watch hand

Imagine Scooping water from a stream

Ascend Water trickles through fingers

Pass back of hand in front of face at eye level

Reverse direction - Swap hands L hand over R kidney, R arm extends Movement is circular. Align to each corner as you turn. Imagine water.

WOOD

Narrow Horse Stance. L arm extends, palm pushes. R hand towards centre, palm up

L arm withdraws R arm extends

R arm pushes L arm towards centre

Keep going in own rhythm Open sides of body

Movement like a running action internal massage of organs. Unlocked Knees - Momentum creates slight bouncing movement

FIRE
As if to deflect blow

Palm faces away

Feet shoulder width apart, then bring hands up holding a ball, Left hand on top

Turn to R. Weight more in L leg. R hand in front of face. L arm pushes out, centre of palm opposite centre of chest.

Transfer weight and turn - mirror image

Sink weight down

Lead movement from little finger edge

Exhale moving outwards - Inhale moving inwards

EARTH

Feet shoulder width Hands make diamond shape on Hara, thumbs to navel

Hands float up Turn from side to to sky. Look up side. Hips remain through hands facing forward, movement in waist

Hands make diamond shape

Notice opening under arm. Corkscrew movement. Keep eyes on fixed point through hands

Be aware of connection to ground (earth).

METAL

Feet shoulder width apart, hands on Hara

Allow arms to float up to sides, chest level. Palms up. Inhale

A) Hands draw in to front of chest, opening back Exhale

B) Roll hands over, palms down, move elbows back, drawing shoulder blades together then turn hands again to repeat A Inhale

Like a flushing movement.
