Mahafil e Naat and Milad were underway from the start of holy month of Rabiul Awwal. The celebrations featured Koran recitations, animal sacrifices, public sermons and feasts. The first public observance of Milad-un-Nabi by Sunnis took place in 12th century in Syria under the rule of Noor-un-Din Zangi. We celebrated this event with full zest and zeal in our school. Students recited verses from Holy Quran, Hamd and Naat and delivered speeches on life and message of our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). The students in their speeches said that in the period of illiteracy and backwardness in the Arab world our Holy Prophet (PBUH) founded an Islamic society with the ideology based on human equality, brotherhood and peaceful coexistence. Citing an example from the Last Sermon of Our Holy Prophet (PBUH), the students said that in it, the equal rights had been given to women and differences on caste, creed, colour and ethnicity have also been called against the brotherhood and humanity. The most important part of Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebration is to understand and follow the character of the Prophet (SAW) ---his (SAW) teachings, sufferings and how he (SAW) forgave his bitter enemies. In various processions, speakers, point out the teachings of equality, justice and harmony. Different routes of the processions are decorated with buntings and banners inscribing the welcoming notes for the Holy Prophet (SAW). Special prayers are also offered for the unity of Muslim Ummah, progress and prosperity of Pakistan. Eid Milad-un-Nabi is a highly regarded religious occasion when the faithful express gratitude and thanks to Allah Almighty for blessing the universe with His last messenger and Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).Let us hope and pray that this Eid Milad-un-Nabi bring peace, prosperity and unity for every Muslim.
