Welcome from Alison Clark-Jenkins, Director of Arts & Development, Arts Council England, North East.

10.40am Introduction to the world of digital development by Hannah Rudman of AmbITion Electra
Hannah will give a speedy overview of why digital development is essential for the arts sector ,explaining
how changes in socio-economic and cultural behaviours affect the landscape in which we work. Looking at
the arts sector in the 21st century, Hannah shows how digital developments create benefits and
opportunities for any arts organisation.

11.00am Keynote: Bill Thompson: The Future’s Here… Electra


Bill Thompson is a freelance BBC/Guardian journalist, new media pioneer and board member at arts
organisation New Writing Partnership and has done extensive work on digital development in the sector.
Bill has been working in, on and around the Internet since 1984. He was the founding head of new media
at Guardian Newspapers and led the team that built the first Guardian website in 1994. Bill will help us
horizon scan and consider how some of the implications of technological change might inform long term
strategic planning and resource allocation.

12.10pm Case Study: James Wooldridge, Ludus Dance Electra


James from Ludus Dance presents a case study of an arts organisation’s journey through digital
development. He will outline the organisations journey, the results and the lessons learnt.

Digital Video for Beginners Masterclass Digital Lounge


If you’ve ever wanted to create digital video, this is the workshop for you. Lets Go Global, an Internet TV and
digital video production company, will give insight into what content might exist in your organisation, and
how you might capture and disseminate it! 25 people maximum per session.

Intellectual Property Advice Masterclass The Roxy


OWN-IT will give an overview of the intellectual property (IP) issues around digital content and some of the
solutions. Intellectual property advice from people who know that content and live experience is the
business of the arts. 25 people maximum per session.

Arts Council England Officers’ Masterclass Latchman


Hannah Rudman reveals, with lessons from the AmbITion project, what support regularly funded
organisations (RFOs) will need when engaging with digital development, and what to expect when the RFOs
change. 12 people maximum per session.

4.30pm Get Participating! The AmbITion Approach to the Digital Opportunity Electra
Hannah Rudman takes you through the methodology used by AmbITion to help develop and deliver
successful digital development projects and offers invaluable tips, tricks, and signposts case studies and
resources to help after today.
