If already rooted, proceed to the next step.(How to r oot or unroot Galaxy Y-click here) * Make sure that you're on Stock kernel. Stock = Factory version ( The k ernel that came while buying the phone). If you haven't changed kernel, ignore t his warning. * If your'e NOT on Stock kernel, either flash stock kernel, or open the JELLYBLASTV3.signed.zip on your pc, delete boot.img from it, and then flash the zip. In that way, you'll be able to use ANY kernel you already have.However,it i s always advisable to start from stock in order to eliminate any possible runtim e errors. * Remove a2sd or data2sd and format your 2nd partition if you have it. * Place the above file to your sd card (NOT IN ANY FOLDER!!!) * Switch off your phone. * Go to Clockwork mode. If you don't know what is CWM, click here. This is important, because CWM is necessary, or you won't be able to boot up with the new Kernel. Use the CWM I have given above, for best results. * Use the volume keys to move up and down. * Wipe data and cache and Dalvik cache. * Now choose: Install zip from sd card. * Choose JELLYBLAST V3.signed.zip * Choose "yes" * It will be Installed. Now reboot your phone. First boot will take time . Be patient. * If you have followed EVERYTHING above carefully, you will soon boot up to your new rom. * Please wait until media scanning is completed. * Enjoy!!! :P

KERNEL DETAILS: JBV3 uses KURO KERNEL , known best for its extreme battery saving capabiliti es and stabilities. However, you might want more speed, and might even want to O VERCLOCK your device upto 1.2 GHz. For that, you can use MERRUK KERNEL 2.5. It is faster, and has overclock sup port upto 1.2 GHz. However, please also notice that Merruk kernel is still in PR E-Final stage, and hence, it is for Advanced users. Follow the steps below to install Merruk kernel. Status Bar Greper, by kill3d, is the most DYNAMIC method for changing ANY pa rt of your Status Bar, like Signal, Data, Carrier Logo, moving icons from right to left, custom battery icon, custom status bar background, etc. How to install: Flash this JBV3Greper.signed.zip via CWM or stock. How to use: Install QuickPic app from Play Store. ( Necessary ). Open the statusbargreper app from your drawer. Enjoy! Special Icon packs for greper (from Wintermod thread): Greper Icon Pack.zip The icon pack is NOT FLASHABLE. Extract the zip on your sd card, select the desired image from greper app, and ENJOY!!! Carrier Thumbs up User Bug Reports: TROUBLESHOOTING: Please take notice: Version 1.0: Problem 1: Some users find that the Swype is force closing, and the absence of gallery and music in App drawer. If you face this problem, here is what you can do: 1. Using root explorer, delete Swype.apk from System/app (or) uninstall swype us ing link2sd. 2. Try looking for play music and gallery ics apk in system /app. If present MOV E them to SD card using root explorer. Tap rw at the top to move. 3. Reboot. 4. Install the following attached apk's in the post: SwypeICS.apk, and GalleryIC S.apk, Google play music. apk or from the apks which you just moved to your SD c ard. For better performance of play music, again move the apk to System /app...a nd set permissions to rwrr. (Tick the first two boxes in the first row and the 1 st box in the other two rows) and reboot. 5.Enjoy. Problem 2: ICS Gallery is not working on my phone. Solution:Have you done it properly? Try again. I've fixed the link. Still if it doesn't work, I'm afraid you will have to install the old Gingerbread Gallery. C opy and paste gallery3D.apk from attachments into System/app using root explorer , set permissions to rwrr and reboot. Problem 3: Status Bar does not appear. Solution: Re Install the ROM from beginning. It happened because the flashing wa s not done properly. Version 2.0: Problem 1: Cannot recieve sms, but can send it. Solution: Install the mms fix.zip given in the downloads section of 2.0.. UPDATE: 15/08/12 : CWM flashable MMS.ZIP...it will give you back the ICS themed stock apk, which works perfectly, but not totally like Jelly bean: http://www.me diafire.com/download.php?kl396sxlg300igr OR If it doesn't work for you, I'm afraid you'll have to go back to the old mms.apk .
