B. Motivation 1. Review Last meeting, we discussed perimeter. As a review, given the length of a rectangle which is 12cm and width is 4cm, find its perimeter. What formula are we going to use? The area of any two dimensional figure can be determined by imagining its surface completely filled with square regions called square units. A square which side is one unit long has an area of one square unit. The square centimetre is a standard unit of area.
