1. If you were Bathala, whom you would release first from the bamboo, Malakas or Maganda? Why?

Justify your choice. (10 points) If I were Bathala, the first one I would release from the bamboo would be Malakas. From the name Malakas we can easily identify that it represents the man and Maganda represents woman. We all know that Men are strong and can stand up for woman. Its like without man, no one can be there and help a woman. Man builds up the strength in woman. For me, if man is the first one that would come out from the bamboo, there will be someone who could help a woman. But it doesnt mean that woman is weak. Woman is brave and strong in their own way. Maybe a woman can be physically weak but the woman is emotionally strong. That is the opposite of the man. Man can be physically strong but they are emotionally weak. That is exactly why a man and a woman need each other. They need someone who can be the strength of their weakness. Both completed each other, filled up the emptiness together and most especially fulfill the love they were looking for. 2. Who among the following characters would you include in your circle of friends and why? Set A. Out of the 4 options, I would choose Florante to be in my circle of friends because base on the book "Florante at Laura" Florante is a great hero, warrior and general of hukbong magtatanggol to conquer the persians and turkies. And most of all he's also have a good heart to love Laura and a true man to fight for the love of his life no matter what. I want to be friends with him because his traits are some of what Iam looking for.

Set B. Maria Clara will be my choice out of the 4. In the novel "Noli Me Tangere", Maria Clara is the most beautiful and widely celebrated lady in the town of San Diego. She is also a religious person, a epitome of virtue, A demure and Self-effacing lady. She's endowed with beauty, grace and charm. Truly an ideal image of a filipino woman. 3. Supposed that they really exist and they will run as president of the Philippines, whom will you vote for and why? If there is a chance that the said characters were real, I would choose Aliguyon out of the choices. Aliguyon was known to be an Ifugao folk hero who is a brave warrior. The reason that I chose him is because he took time to learn things and face challenges in his own will power. If hell run as the president of our country, he can definitely serve the nation right and equal, because he already had a background in being a leader. His strength can represent our culture and traditions. Aliguyon can help our country be united and one by peace. His characteristic can also describe the way a Filipino face a certain challenges, he never let himself lose into something he is willing to fight for.

It has a legal proceeding; we all know that Writer is a difficult or awkward job because it has many processing to do before you published your work. Especially your are doing a different Regions.

The Trap by Kerima Polotan Tuvera

This short story discusses how a young girl can easily fall in love to her teacher and easily betrayed by her feelings when the situation that she has gotten into turned upside down. This is a good story that all Literature studens can cope to because as the main character experiences the changes; physically, mentally and emotionally, they can easily understand

what she is going through. A best friend who is ahead of her in experiencing maturity and a teacher who has broke her heart. Such a nice chort story that should be introduced to Philippine literature students.

This is a very enticing story to read despite the fact that the main character is on her early childhood days. The students of the literature class can easily adapt and understand the story and even share the same sentiments with the little girl herself. The whole story goes around with the little girl's classmate named Socorro, has been bullying her bacause she has seen her skirt go up in te air exposing what should not be seen in the public. Since they are studying in an all-girls school, it was considered to be a sinful act an the little girl was very nervous to face her pinishment because she is afraid to have a conversation with her strict teacher, who is a nun, and afraid to disappoint her parents as well. The whole story is very interesting as it climbs its way to the ckimax part and the writer flawlessly portrayed the antagonist in a way that te readers would have a love-hate relationship to her. We recommend this story to be discussed in a literature class because it tackles the issue that one of the students might be currently going through.

3. We Fililinos are Mild Drinkers by Alejandro Roces

Another funny story that the students would definitely love to read because it tells how we Filipinos are very hospitable when it comes to the visitors coming to our home and would even offer the best drink they could have. It has happened during the time that our country

was under the colonization of the Americans and a farmer has accepted a GI soldier inside his home and even offered him to drink the famous Filipino liquor, lambanog. The fact that he was not used to what he was drinking, he easily get drunk and the farmer offered to take hime back to his quarters. This shows how we Filipinos have our values and how we easily get along with other people.

This story shows how beauty inside differs from the beauty outside. It is very interesting to read because it tells a story of two old friends, a girl and a boy, wherein the boy who has a not so good physical features has secretly loved his best friend who was during that time, was very beautiful and a lot of guys are showing their admiration to her. Several years had passed and the boy lost his communication with this girl but he still go everyday to the place where they always go before they go home. The students of Philippine Literature would easily put their feelings to the shoes of the boy or the girl wherein if you study hard for your future, you could in turn be beautiful afterall. And if you will waste your youthful life doing nothing, the physical beauty would fade and the ugly signs of being old would easily come.

5. Suyuan sa Tubigan by Macario Pineda

This short story should be introduced to the students today wherein we are facing the fast growth of technology and you could easily get whatever you want. It tells a story of an old way of courtship that the students today are not totally aware of. The sweetness of the courtship plus the effort of the guy would do just to be able to get the "yes" of the girl that

he likes. Even though the way that the young generation today has a different view on this particular part of their lives, it would be nice to have them read stories like this so as not to forget what the latter generation used to do.
