This term seems to be flying by! It has been a busy few weeks for our sports men and women. Our netball team competed well in the partnership event last week and although they failed to win a game they showed tremendous teamwork and did not show the petulance we often see from professional footballers when things arent going their way! Year 3 shared in assembly last Friday how much they enjoyed the Year 3 Partnership Multi-skills event at Burford School. Thank you Mrs Brownjohn for all your hard work helping organise such a broad and exciting set of sporting opportunities for our children. Next week sees our Year 6 children head off on their adventure to The Pioneer Centre. I know they are going to have such a fantastic time. M r Shaw G oodwin - H eadteacher

I would just like to raise a few housekeeping items which I would appreciate your support with. Children being dropped off for Breakfast Club should come through the pedestrian gate, go around the back of school and into the School hall. Could I also ask that parents not access the rest of the school having dropped off their child/ren. In the event of a fire we would not necessarily know there was someone in the building. It is also often the time when staff discuss the day ahead referencing specific children and issues and as I hope you can appreciate these types of conversation should be confidential. I have noticed that on occasions cars are being parked on the yellow zigzags. This shouldnt be happening, as it has to be kept clear. The only exception is the school bus that parks there for safety reasons. We have had another complaint from one of the residents of Langford about the parking at drop off and pick up times. Please can you help by not parking within one car length of the corner of The Elms. Unless you have a prior arrangement with school due to mobility issues, the school car park is also not for use. Thank you to those parents who send in money in advance on a Monday or on the day the meal is eaten. Some meals are however, currently outstanding so please do not wait for a brown reminder envelope these are not sent out as a routine way to pay! Please ensure all dinners are paid up to date by the end of each week at the latest. Mr Shaw G oodwin H eadteacher

The children tell the teacher whether they are having dinners (hot school meal) or sandwiches. There have been a few instances last term of children being recorded as sandwiches but actually having dinners, and vice versa. Please could you help minimise this problem by reminding your child whether they are dinners or sandwiches in the morning, as unfortunately, this does cause confusion and may result in parents being charged for meals not taken thank you.
