Bikes for the community What's Involved? Volunteers will help with the dismantling and repairs of bicycles. Rothar is a community bike shop which takes donations of unwanted bikes, sells revamped bikes and provides bike repairs. Through these sustainable business activities, we generate resources to reinvest in: Creating jobs and employment opportunities, Promoting a cycling culture, Donating revamped bikes to schools and vulnerable groups, Contributing to meeting waste reduction targets *You can call us or drop into the shop to enquire Where: Phibsboro Dublin 7 When 1 or more 4 hour shifts weekly, either morning or afternoon, Tuesday to Sunday Role: ARTIST TO PAINT MURAL ON BUILDING - Solas Project What's Involved: Due to expansion, we have recently moved into a new office building in Dublin 8 and would like to make our presence known by painting a mural on the front of the building. *The volunteer artist would be responsible for painting the mural in line with the design agreed with Solas Project. The design process has begun for the mural but we would be interested in suggestions from the artist. Paint and other materials will be supplied as necessary.. Solas are also seeking an Allotment Manager with an interest in gardening on an ongoing basis Where: Thomas Street, Dublin 8 When: 2 full days Role: Graphic Designer needed for National Volunteering Week - Dublin City North Volunteer Centre What's Involved: We are currently looking for a graphic designer to create a poster and flyer for the National Volunteering Week. This is a time-limited project which can be mostly developed from home in the month of March or April. National Volunteering Week is an event organised by Volunteer Ireland and will take place from the 13th to the 19th of May 2013. National Volunteering Week is the one week of the year when we encourage everyone in Ireland to give volunteering a try, so that everyone can learn that even if it's only for a minute an hour, or a day volunteering can make a big difference and be alot of fun.
