Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana(KVPY)

The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana is an ongoing program started by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. This program strives to assist the students to realize their potential and to ensure that the best scientific talent is tapped for research and development in the country. Generous scholarships are provided (up to the pre-Ph.D. level) to the selected students. The Department of Science and Technology - the nodal agency of the Government has entrusted the overall responsibility for organizing the scheme to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and set up a National Advisory Committee (NAC) for overseeing its implementation. A Basic Committee and a National Scientific Committee look after both the administrative and academic aspects of the KVPY Program.

SYLLABUS & SUBJECTS


No prescribed syllabus for the written test. The written test aims to test the understanding and analytical ability of the student than his/her factual knowledge. However, students are tested for the syllabus up to class XII. Physics Mathematics Chemistry

Heres the list of instructions, you should keep in mind


1. The test is of 3 hours duration (9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.) 2. The question paper consists of two parts (both contain only multiple choice questions) for 100 marks. There will be four sections in Part I (each containing 20 questions) and four sections in Part II (each containing 10 questions). Answer any THREE of the four sections in Part I, and any TWO of the four sections in Part II. 3. The composition of the question paper is given in the table below: Sl. The answer paper is machine readable. The answer to each question is to be entered in OMR sheet only. 5. For each question there will be four choices given and only one of them is the correct answer. 6. There is negative marking for wrong answers. Unanswered questions will not be evaluated and will not be penalized as a wrong answer. 7. In Part I each correct answer gets 1 mark and for each incorrect answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. In Part II each correct answer gets 2 marks and for each incorrect answer 0.5 marks will be deducted.
