Model United Nations (MUN)

Model United nation is a concept of United Nations simulation process to bring out the hidden talent from the youth with a process of United Nations Assemblies. It enchains the worlds Youth in a diplomatic process to take decision in international affairs and problems which the world faces. This simulation process is somewhere observed by the United Nations itself. The idea of MUN was first introduced in America and it goes on following by the democratic process of world politics. Now, it is a popular and important event which is done in almost every countries of the world to increase students efficiencies and rational faculties.

DUMUNA
DUMUNA stands for Dhaka University Model United Nations Association. It is an international standard organization to practice Model United Nations (MUN) in Bangladesh. It aims at imparting Dhaka University students in this process and to make them world class diplomats. It enables the students to increase their diplomatic skills, their rational faculties and to express their opinions in world issues. This is the first MUN club in Bangladesh to nurture UN hope, unity and peace, and to celebrate UN days and contributing in students welfare.

Target People
This organization is totally for the students to impart them and to make them aware of these things. This organization targets the university students from all parts of Bangladesh and to bring them in a world class stage where they will be able to gather their knowledge, to come up with their opinions and to express them to world leaders through practicing Model United Nations.

DUMUNA National Workshop 2012 On UN, Model UN & Youth Leadership Quality Development

Dhaka University Model United Nations Association (DUMUNA) is going to organize a two days long national workshop on UN, Model UN & Youth Leadership Quality Development from July 19, 2012 to July 20, 2012 with a view to encourage students about United Nations (UN), Model UN (MUN) conferences and to raise awareness on Youth Leadership Quality Development among them through the knowledge & objectives of UN & MUN. This endeavor, the association thinks, will help students enable them to practice MUN here in Bangladesh and will make them able to integrate them in different MUN all over the world with confidence and courage. This is the biggest university level national workshop on UN, Model UN & Youth Leadership Quality Development here in Bangladesh to be organized by the first MUN club, Dhaka University Model United Nations Association, of this country.

Objectives
The association thinks that there are some important sides of this workshop. Those are:
This workshop is to impart students with extra curriculum activities. Students will get the basic ideas of debate and extempore speech will make them more

efficient.
Help in their diplomatic skills, leadership quality development

To increase their ability of negotiation and logical decision by utilizing their rational faculties
To bring them in a consensus by their logical decision.

Develop teachers- students better relationship.

The R. C. Majomder Arts Auditorium of Dhaka University will be used as the venue from April 3 to April 10.
