Feature Descriptions

2.1 Usability Features

2.1.1 Analysis Progress Gadget
In xWizard 8.2, users can now see the progress of their xWizard analysis from within the xWizard tool. The Analysis Progress gadget by default resides under the map window. This gadget similarly to any other gadget can be docked anywhere within the xWizard window. It is shown by simply selecting the Show Analysis Progress Gadget from the View > Dashboard menu item.

2.1.2 Task Flow Enhancements

In xWizard 8.2, we have added the following enhancements to the task flow manager:

Inherit Task Settings Ability to execute partial list of task

2.1.2.1 Inherit Task Settings

It takes time to define the task flow settings such as analysis filter, reference grid etc. For example if one wanted to create a task flow with 10 tasks then they will have to set 10*7=77 settings for task flow! In xWizard 8.2, the task flow process has been improved by persisting and applying the last analysis task reference grid and filtering options to the newly created analysis tasks. This should reduce the number of required steps as the filtering options and the reference grids tend to be the same for all component tasks within a task flow.

2.1.2.2 Ability to execute partial list of tasks

Users sometimes need to run subset of the tasks. In xWizard 8.2, users can now multi-select task and execute the selected task. Multi-select support both Shift and Control selection.

2.1.3 Polygon inclusion in Optimi X Project Creation

In xWizard 8.2, users can now include a polygon when creating an Optimi X project from within xWizard.

Only polygons within the currently selected Annotation layer are available for export, so ensure that the appropriate layer is selected before beginning the Optimi Project creation process.

2.1.4 xWizard Project Import/Export Data Set Extension

The set of xWizard project data that can be exported and imported has been extended in xWizard 8.2. Besides entity data, users can now import/export bearers, parameter files, services, UEs, Service Configurations, clutter adjustments and antenna patterns. Three new checkboxes have been added to the Export Project tree: Workspace Antenna Patterns Clutter Adjustments

2.1.4.1 Workspace data

When users select to export workspace data, it creates a file with a .prj extension. The set of workspace data varies based on the technologies defined for the workspace.

2.1.4.1.1 TDMA/TETRA/iDEN
For these technologies, there is no workspace data to export.

2.1.4.1.2 GSM
For GSM, the workspace data includes all GSM parameter files defined in the workspace.

2.1.4.1.3 Cdma2000
For cdma2000, the workspace data includes:

All cdma2000 parameter files defined in the workspace All radio configurations referenced in the workspace defined cdma2000 parameter files All cdma2000 services defined in the workspace All bearers used by the workspace cdma2000 services All UEs used by the workspace cdma2000 services

2.1.4.1.4 UMTS
For UMTS, the workspace data includes:

All UMTS parameter files defined in the workspace All network configurations referenced in the workspace defined UMTS parameter files All UMTS services defined in the workspace All bearers used by the workspace UMTS services All UEs used by the workspace UMTS services All Data Applications used by the workspace UMTS services

2.1.4.1.5 WiMAX
For WiMAX, the workspace data includes:

All WiMAX parameter files defined in the workspace All WiMAX services defined in the workspace All bearers used by the workspace WiMAX services All Subscriber Stations used by the workspace WiMAX services All Data Applications used by the workspace WiMAX services

2.1.4.1.6 LTE
For LTE, the workspace data includes:

All LTE parameter files defined in the workspace All LTE services defined in the workspace All bearers used by the workspace LTE services All Subscriber Stations used by the workspace LTE services

2.1.4.2 Antenna Patterns

When users select to export antenna patterns data, it creates a file with an .antpattern extension. This file contains the antenna pattern data for all antenna patterns used in the workspace.

2.1.4.3 Clutter Adjustments

When users select to export clutter adjustment data, it creates a file with a .clutadj extension. This file contains the clutter adjustment data for all clutter adjustment files referenced in the workspace.

2.1.5 Analysis Statistics enhancement

The analysis statistics shows how grid results are distributed over the selected polygon. In previous versions of xWizard, we only considered the grid area in determining our statistics. In xWizard 8.2, we now consider the entire selected polygon area when determining our statistics.

2.1.6 OLAP Enhancements

Wizard 8.2 contains two major OLAP enhancements:

2.1.6.1 View Summary Enhancement

In previous versions of Wizard, users had to do grouping before they can use the Summary feature. In Wizard 8.2, that is no longer the case. Summaries are now available with or without first doing the grouping.

2.1.6.2 Neighbor List View Enhancements

Neighbor List View has been enhanced in the following two ways in Wizard 8.2: The name of the neighbor list that the OLAP data refers to is now given in the view legend. It has the format Neighbors<Neighbor list name>. The view now has a new column that shows neighbor interference. It specifies the interference type between the TX and its neighbor. It can be either COCHAN, ADJACENT or N/A.

Accuracy Features

2.2.1 Networks Diagnostic Enhancement

In xWizard 8.2, users can now run network diagnostics based on the per transmitter clutter definitions in addition to running it on a single overriding clutter definition. This is done by simply checking the Use Transmitter Clutter and Adjustment check box in the Network Diagnostics dialog. If checked, xWizard will use the clutter and adjustment file associated with the transmitter in the analysis. If the transmitter has no defined clutter and adjustment file, the analysis will use the clutter and adjustment files defined in the analysis dialog.
