PART A (04:43-32:26) In this movie, Life of Pi, we can know the perception in interpersonal communication based on five stages.

There are stimulation, organization, interpretation-evaluation, memory and recall. In minutes 04:43, the stage of stimulation appear when Piscines friend talk about his name. That communication connet Piscine to recall about his uncle. He tell his friend about what happen to his uncle. He cal his uncle Mamaji. That show some respect when Piscine sais his uncle was a honorany uncle to him. In minutes 05:15, the stimulation process happen again when Piscine want to swim. He cannot swim at the early, but after his uncle told and gave some advive or motivation, Piscine can swim. The stimulation through selective attention occur and the self confident in Piscine self also show response to get increase. From the word good boy, it can show the effect on selective attention that bring success for Piscine to swim. In minutes 05:57, the stage of recall appear when Piscine recall back the information based on what happen at the pool. Piscine tell his friend that his name come from the word that his uncle told to his father. That is if you want your son to have a clean soul, you must take him one day to swim in the Piscine Molitor. Besides that, the stage of interpretation-evaluation appear when Piscine tell his friend about his uncle. The evaluation happen when Piscine tell that his uncle is a good uncle to him. In minutes 07:01, Piscines classmates always laugh at hin because his name sound weird. This is how the social comparisons between Piscine and his classmates. In minutes 07:41, Piscine increasing and throughtout his weaknesses by told to all his classmate that he can make a calculation and explaination about the word Pi. Based on that, then attack self-destructive beliefs appear to Piscine. It bring success to Piscine when his teacher praise him because all his answers are corrects. From that, the self-confident of Piscine increase because he can overcome his weaknesses. In minutes 10:14, Piscines friend said he throw out the novel

after Piscine praise him and want to read his novel. The memory and recall processes appear in that communication. In minutes 11:21, the recall process appear again when Piscine begin to tell his friend about what his uncle do to Piscines friend. Organization by script accur based on story that piscine told. Piscina also recall about his family in the minutes 11:52. In minutes 14:42, Piscines father told Piscine and his brother, Ravi not to believe on what the people do to their god. The cultural teaching happens based on that. In minutes 15:37, Ravi challenge Piscine to run to the church and drink the holy water. Piscine show that he can challenge the self-destructive beliefs. The beliefs that he have to be strong accur when he accept the challenges. After drink the holy water, Piscine meet the Christ. The stage of interpretation-evaluation appear when he asking about the god to the Christ. Piscine want to know and try to evaluate based on that. In minutes 18:16, the cultural teaching appear when Piscine listen and look to the people who are prayer. Piscine try to evaluate it by learn and practice the religion. When eat with the family, Piscine practice using other religion way to say pray before eat. Piscine show the confident that ha can learn all that religions. In minutes 22:21, Piscine and Ravi go to the tiger cage. Piscine want to see and give the tiger the meat. The secure affirmation occur when Piscine dont want to listen to Ravi when he ask Piscine to leave the room. Piscine still want to see the tiger. In the minutes 32:36, Piscines mother told the waiter that she and her family are vegetarians. The cultural teaching appear that show they are not eat meat since generation before.
