2012 Ranking: 64th Largest Export Market for U.S. Goods (2011: 72nd)
The United States-Oman Free Trade Agreement, signed in 2004 and implemented in January 2009, effectively removed nearly all tariffs on products. The Sultanate provided immediate duty-free access for current U.S. agricultural exports in 87 percent of agricultural tariff lines. The U.S. removed tariffs for all of Omans current exports of agricultural products. In 2012, U.S. exports to Oman increased by 21.8 percent over 2011 to $1.75 billion, while 2012 U.S. imports from Oman totaled $1.35 billion, a 38.7 percent decrease from 2011.
