U.S. exports in goods to Djibouti in 2012 declined by 4.1 percent from 2011 to $122.9 million, while U.S. goods imports from Djibouti increased 192.36 percent to $11.85 million, with most imports focusing on Returned Goods (at $10 million) and Agricultural Products (at $1.53 million). Djibouti is eligible for U.S. trade benefits under the African Growth and Opportunities Act of 2000, which extends preferential access for imports from beneficiary SubSaharan African countries until September 2015.
