System Overview
Platform Description
ECIs F152 is a fully customizable and very flexible high-bandwidth access gateway and DSLAM. The F152 can be deployed in the central office where it can aggregate traffic from other Hi-FOCuS shelves toward the network. It can also be deployed in the local loop to provide services directly to subscribers. In either case, subtending and direct-to-subscriber services can be mixed for maximum deployment flexibility. Deliver Multiple Technologies on One Platform ECIs F152 delivers fully customizable and flexible high bandwidth services on one shelf. The F152 can be populated with any combination of ADSL2+, VDSL2, GPLT or VoIP line cards, and provides Ethernet aggregation, all with a non-blocking internal architecture to maximize bandwidth availability. The F152 is based on tested technology that is currently deployed in the field by First-Tier carriers servicing millions of subscribers. Multiple Technologies-Multiple Deployments Deployed in a Central Office (CO), the F152 serves as an infrastructure component within the network and aggregates traffic from other subtended HiFOCuS shelves towards the network. The F152 can also be deployed in Local Loop locations for direct-to-subscriber services. In either case, the F152 can mix subtending and direct-to-subscriber services for maximum deployment flexibility. One of the features that significantly increases bandwidth availability is the multiple NI link aggregation. Multiple Ethernet ports can be aggregated into a single logical group for high bandwidth applications. Lines can be aggregated across NI cards (inter-NI) or within the same card (intra-NI). Aggregation also occurs in the backplane between NIs and line cards, providing both load sharing and redundancy.

Replacing the Fans
The F152 arrives with the fan unit installed. The fan unit is located under the cards and is secured to the frame with two screws on the left and right of the fan unit. The Fan Module in the F152 contains the Fan Assembly and the Fan Control Card. The Fan Assembly contains six fans measuring 120 x 120 x 38mm. The Fan Card controls the fan operation. Fan operation, including fan speed and Start/Stop modes, is software-configured via the NI card. The Fan Module can be replaced while the shelf is operation. It should be replaced within a few minutes to avoid failures due to over temperature. When removing the module, it is recommended disengaging the module first, waiting a few seconds until the fans stop spinning and then removing it.

Power Connection
The required Power range is 40.5VDC to 75 VDC. As in other ECI platforms, the F152 receives power from two sources in redundant mode. The standard power feed module for the F152 is the High-current Input Filter dual-source power feed module supported with two Central Filtering Unit (CFU) card modules. Each CFU card supports both power sources. Hence, there is redundancy in the power source and in the CFU card. The High-current Input Filter power input module and the Central Filtering Unit cards are designed for a maximum of 2500 W.
Power Cable
The power cable has the following characteristics: 3 meters cable length Wire gauge: 4x10 AWG Open side: Ferrule Halogen-Free (HFFR) Closed side: D-type 5W5
