Explain facts and examples about that force of change in the ancient civilizations (Mesopotamia, Indus Valley, Egypt). Explain facts and examples about that fo rce of change at another point in history. Explain facts and examples about that force of change today. Connect your ideas together to explain how these examples show this force of change and its impact throughout history. You should have a visual aid (i.e., PowerPoint, Photo Story, Prezi) for your presentation.

Your presentation will be marked against all four Humanities Criteria: Criterion A: Knowledge and Understanding You demonstrate knowledge (facts) and understanding of the force of change in ancient civilizations, another point in time, and today. Criterion B: Investigating You conduct an investigation and record the information, citing the sources. Criterion C: Critical Thinking You synthesize (combine) the information to explain the impact of the force of change on people. Criterion D: Presenting You communicate information and structure your work in a clear way. You create an MLA format bibliography. Present your information in a clear, loud voice Use your visual aid to help you Use powerful images in your visual aid PRACTICE your presentation before you present it!

Criteria

In order to succeed you need to . . .

Explain your force of change in the ancient civilizations and how it changed people Explain your force of change in another time in history and how it changed people Explain your force of change today and how it's changing people Give examples and facts

Follow the research organizer Write down only the notes and facts that help you answer the research questions Write notes in your own words - do not write down words that you don't understand! Write down only key words and write in bullet points

Share the main points about your force of change throughout history Make connections between your examples (ex: "the impact of irrigation in the ancient civilizations is like the impact of the industrial revolution because . . .") Explain the impact of the force of change on people

How did forces of change impact people throughout history?

Research Question: Example: How has agriculture impacted people throughout history? How has population impacted people throughout history

ANCIENT CIVILIZATION (Example: Mesopotamia, Indus Valley, Egypt, Ancient Rome, etc.) What was population like in Ancient Greece?

What was this force of change like at this time? Areas to think of: origins, tools, materials, systems such as irrigation, the driving forces such as; society, climate, communication, population, etc Was it similar or different than the methods they used before? In what way was it different? Greek people have always believed in education. The Greeks invented the first clothes iron about 2,400 years ago They also made a map and a weapon called catapult. In the Ancient periods in Greece people had lots of wars and invasions , so it was called the Dorian ages There were lots of farmers and civilizations at that Ancient period There were lots of heroes in Ancient Greece

How did it impact the people at that time? Think of the development of new areas, tools, jobs, environment, etc One way impacted the people in ancient civilization was

Another way was

Another Point in History (Example: The Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, Machine Age, etc.) What was Population like during the industrial revolution?

What was this force of change like at this time? Areas to think of: origins, tools, materials, systems such as irrigation, the driving forces such as; society, climate, communication, technologies, population, etc Was it similar or different? In what ways was it similar? In what ways was it different?

The 5 impacts are There were more diseases in the world since there are more people The death rate got higher since there are more war and conflict They developed the machines to meet peoples needs and allow people to have an easy life They discovered more things because there were more jobs People started to migrate to other places to find a new life

How did it impact the people at that time? Think of the development of new areas, tools, machines, jobs, environment, etc During this period, ________________________ had a (similar/different) impact on the society. One way it impacted the people in this point in time was

Another way was

Today (Example: The Space Age, Green Revolution, etc.)

What is ___________________________________ like today? What was this force of change like today? Areas to think of: systems, technologies, the driving forces such as; communication, society, population, etc Was it similar or different? In what way was it similar? In what way was it different? Right now in the world some places are overpopulated because people are increasing in birth rate Decline mortality Rate due to medical advances Or improved technology A result from increase in immigration or a decrease in emigration in a particular region Also an unsustainable use and also depletion of resources The impact is likely to increase

How did it impact the people at that time? Think of the development of new areas, tools, machines, technologies, jobs, environment, economy, etc Today, had a (similar/different) impact on the society. One way it impacted the people today was

Another way was There were diseases during I n the world since there were more people The demand supply has to decrease because there are more needs to the peoples expectations The Global Standard has to rise and there will be fewer resources There is less control of peoples populations There are more inventions needed since the people need more resources Life got easier when since in Rome people made lots of inventions like maps so they can find locations easier Trading was rough in Rome because there were lots of burglars in the Industrial Revolution But sometimes it was easy because they had a trading system and lots of currency

How has Population impacted people throughout history?

What is the BIG take away message you want to communicate? From studying the three periods in time, we can conclude that has had From studying the three periods in time, we can conclude that population has had increased throughout the three time periods With more population, there would be more needs and the global standards will rise There would be more needs for jobs and with more jobs there will be new discovery which would lead to new inventions There would be more natural resources More natural resources would be wasted Humans had to start with easier resources to survive in the olden days They depend on other animals to live If there population grew there would be more jobs for the people

From Ancient Civilizations Main Example 1: People had to farm in protected areas where animals cant get close to the crops Main Example 2: People used easier resources to try to live in the Ancient Civilizations

From Another Point in History Main Example 1: During the olden days people had old inventions during the industrial civilization Today Main Example 1: There are more people to created more inventions

Main Example 2: People created new inventions at that point Main Example 2:
