HOW AND WHERE IS RAINWATER HARVESTING BEING DONE? (200 WORDS)

Our College campus is consisting of soil strata of clay up to 2 feet, lime 2-6 feet, hard strata below 6 feet. This condition is not suitable for rainwater harvesting by recharging to the ground. Also the high minerals of sandy soil will increase the hardness level and PH of water. As rainwater is purest source of water, we are collecting it from all the roof tops and open area and directly connected to the nearby open wells.

ANY OTHER INITIATIVE TAKEN BY YOUR ORGANISATION IN GOOD GREEN GOVERNANCE THAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH US? (500 WORDS)

Centre for clean Energy and nanoconvergence is also working on metal oxide nanoparticle based Eco-friendly green catalyst for photodegradation of organic pollutants under visible light. Water pollution is mainly caused by non-degradable organic pollutants from Industries. Currently, photocatalysts based on inorganic semiconductor nanoparticles show significant potential for degradation applications. Wide spread synthesis protocols used for nano particles production often require use of harsh organic solvents/surfactants and strong reducing agents, which typically generate large quantities of hazardous reagents. Here,
Green and cost effective synthesis procedure of nanoparticles is suggested Environmentally friendly green synthesis of photocatalyst using edible waste is developed Enhancement in photo degradation efficiency of semiconductor photocatalyst synthesized via green route is reported
