EMPLOYEE LOG SYSTEM USING PC&RFID

AIM: The main aim of this project is to design a system RFID based office attendance logger. DESCRIPTION: The attendance system is basically an embedded RFID: one. Embedded stands for hardware controlled by software. Here, the software using a Microcontroller controls all the hardware components. The RFID means Radio Frequency

Identification cards or tags. RFID is used for data transfer and acquisition wirelessly using

microcontroller plays an important role in the system. The main objective of the system is to uniquely identify and to make attendance for a person. This requires a

magnetic fields or radio waves between transponder and reader.

unique product, which has the capability of distinguishing different persons. This is possible by the new emerging technology RFID (Radio Frequency Identification). The main parts of an RFID System are RFID tag (with unique ID number) and RFID reader (for reading the RFID tag). The EEPROM used for storing the details which has the capability of storing details of the personnel. The PC can be used for restoring all the details of attendance transactions made. This report provides a clear picture of hardware and software use in the system. It also provides an overall view with detailed discussion of the operation of the system.

RTC A real-time clock (RTC) is a computer clock that keeps track of the current time. Although the term often refers to the devices in personal computers, servers and embedded systems, RTCs are present in almost any electronic device which needs to keep accurate time.

HARDWARE COMPONENTS:

 Microcontroller: Micro controller (ARM) is used for the interfacing of all modules supporting a program. Power Supply: Power supply generates the required voltage by using the transformer, bridge rectifier, filter and voltage regulator. Dallas (DS)1307: Dallas 1307(RTC) is a semiconductor device it is used to generate the accurate timing any device. RFID: Radio-frequency identification (RFID) it is used for the purpose of identification of person. MAX232: MAX232 is an integrated circuit that converts signals from an RS-232 serial port to
signals suitable for use in TTL compatible digital logic circuits.

EEPROM: EEPROM stands for Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory and it is used to store small amounts of data.ie it stores person details. LCD: Liquid crystal display (LCD), the details of person display on LCD.

SOFTWARES USED: KEIL Software: Micro controller supports the KEIL software for its code. Express PCB: To design a circuit EXPRESS PCB is used. Micro C Flash: Micro controller needs MICROCFLASH software to insert a code in it.
