Final Assignment: Entrepreneurship Course The following assignment has been designed to ensure maximum learning & exposure

to construct a business idea & plan. You are suggested to take advice from professionals who can guide you Eg. Lawyers, Accountants, potential competitors etc. Considering this assignment as just another academic assignment may not suffice the purpose. Ensure good commitment and time is invested in the project by each & every team member. These plans can also be further used by the teams to participate in b-plan competitions for upcoming fest season. Stage 1: Executive Summary Each group has to present an executive summary of not more than 500 words about their idea. The summary must contain essential points about your idea, the problem that you are trying to solve and business feasibility and scalability. The summary has to be submitted division wise by the academic co-ordinator for all the students at once as per deadline mentioned below. Make sure you research your idea before sending in the summary. The idea should be non existent completely except for exceptions made if any. In case the idea is not found suitable it may be rejected (even multiple times) and a new plan has to be submitted. The document should contain team members names & roll nos.necessarily. No additional time will be provided beyond 1 week to individuals whose summary has been rejected for a revised summary. Thus you should ideally send the same at the earliest.The initial draft should be sent by academic co-ordinators and the rejected summaries must be directly sent to the professor on below mentioned email ID. Do not issue the summary in 20-30 words or in twitter messages or SMS format. The individuals whose Executive summary has not been received are presumed to have failed at their task. Stage 2: Presentation Template:

1. Product/Project Name: What is the product or service 2. Customer Perspective: For whom are you creating value? Define the current
Customer Pain areas and how your business proposition will help them

3. Product Description: Describe the Product (functionality, features, architecture,


what core IP do you have), Show your product development roadmap

4. Market Size: Define the market size both in units and value terms wherever
applicable. If it is a new concept, then work out the estimated market

5. Business model: Pricing, Sales & distribution model etc. 6. Competition: Detail in brief on the Competition with the names of the Key Players
and their Brands

7. Financials: Financials for 5 years Period: Revenues/Cost, Cash Flow: Net Burn,
Sources of Funds: Own/Borrowed (if borrowed, give details), Fund requirements for future etc. 8. Team details & why are you best suited to do this

Project Report Templates:

1. Detailed plans on above mentioned points & other relevant details: Legal,
business strategy, target market profile, Administration, Processes, Exit plans etc. 2. To be submitted in hardbound copy with title page on idea name and team members details & roll nos. Slides printout will not be accepted as project report. Common Rules:

1. Font Verdana; Size: 10, Justify alignment to all text 2. Copy pasted data will not be accepted. Any data may be googled during
presentation if found suspicious.

3. Quote source of information. Use relevant sources of information only 4. Heading to be clearly marked and highlighted in the report. 5. Timing for Presentation: 15 Minutes per team followed by Q&A. Random selection
will be made of individuals who will make the presentation.

6. Each team member has to be assigned an organization role: Eg.: CEO, CFO, CDO
etc. These designations are supposed to be put up as badges on each individual during presentation. 7. No set up time will be issued separately to any team. The presentations have to be pre loaded by CR on the class computer and a copy must be shared with the faculty for reference. Ensure presentations are in Office 2003 format only. Do not use any fancy software to create presentations. 8. Questions to be answered by individuals they have been addressed to. The performance rating will be a team rating essentially. Thus select your team members wisely. Having a team member on board with less attendance in the class may be a matter of concern for the rest of the team members. 9. No late walk in allowed. If any member of a particular team is missing the entire team will be disqualified from the process 10.Nos. of members per team: 5. This cannot be violated unless with prior permission. No individual presentations will be accepted. Score Pattern:

1. 20 Points for presentation 2. 20 Points for project report 3. 10 BONUS Points if relevant prototype presented
Executive Summary first draft deadline: 17th December, 2012. In case you do not receive a reply from the faculty within 48 hours (for rejected summaries only) then you need to resend the email. The sooner the email sent and confirmation received will ensure good time available to develop the final project. In case of any discrepancy you are requested to draft an email to: lalwani.rohit@gmail.com. Any calls made to the faculty with respect to the above will not be entertained. Final presentation dates and timing will be confirmed shortly post discussion with academic course representatives. Keep Playing!
