GUIDELINES FOR THE RESEARCH REPORT Please apply all the concept taught in class in your research report.

The marks will be given on the basis of each step. Please prepare your report by keeping in view the following guidelines:
Abstract Short, concise summary of research report (200-250 words) No references Add upto six keywords at the end of abstract. 1. Introduction (1000-1500 words) Introduce the generalized topic Introduce concepts of the topic Overview and description of the topic Importance and significance of the research area Background information Highlight conflicting ideas Introduce problem Suggest a broader solution Objectives of Study Research Questions Delimitations of the Study Introduce the remaining structure of the report. 2. Literature Review (2000-2500 words) Gather knowledge and ideas that have been published on a topic Identify strengths and weaknesses Summarize the previous work of what is and what is not known Identify the research gaps Critical Evaluation of Literature (500 words) Critically analyse the literature Compare and contrast previous views of different researchers Literature Gap Identify the gap that is evident in the literature. 3. Conceptual Model Identify and summarize the limitations of the previous work Identify your variables of interest. Based on the limitations propose an appropriate model/framework. You may also borrow the model proposed by someone other but give the reference. Provide justification of the proposed model Elaborate the components of the model

4. Research methodology Give methodology of research What is the population? What is a sample? o Sample size o Sample characteristics What type of data will be used? (Nature of data e.g. primary or secondary) How the data will be collected? What are the sources of data? Describe your instrument. o Principal Component Analysis o Reliability Analysis By what means data will be analysed?

5. Results and Discussion Results o Descriptive Analysis o Independent Sample T-Test o ANOVA o Regression Assumption o Regression Analysis Multiple Regression Step Wise Regression Category Wise Regression Discussion Discuss you results non-technically with support to literature 6. Implications, Conclusion and Limitations Implications of the Study o Managerial Implications o Academic Implications Conclusion Limitations of the Study References (Minimum 30) Appendices It is the discretion of the researchers to use either American or British Languages English. However, please do not mix both in a single report. Please use present tense as much as possible. Do not write: Jones (2011) stated that.... Do write: Jones (2011) states that.... Please do not use passive voice except in the methodology section. It is recommended that before making the final submission, give a thorough reading to your report. The report should be free of all types of

grammatical errors. Title of Report Title of the report should not exceed 14 words. The font size of the title should 20 points. Each report should contain an abstract of 200-250 words. This abstract should be placed immediately after the title. The researchers should provide at least six keywords after the abstract. There should be 1.25 inch margin on the each side of the paper. Please use Times New Roman font style with 12 point font size. Please make all the paragraphs left aligned. The first line of each paragraph should 0.5 indented. Footnotes/Endnotes

Please use Footnotes/Endnotes if they are absolutely necessary, otherwise avoid them. The authors should use concise headings with an understandable hierarchy of heading. Only heading 1 should be centralized. All other headings will be left aligned. The following format should be followed for heading:

Heading

1. HEADING 1 (Centralized, font size 16)

1.1 HEADING 2 (Font Size 14)
1.1.1 Heading 3 (Font Size 12) 1.1.1.1 Heading 4 (Font Size 12)

Figures

All figures (Charts, diagrams, line drawing, screenshots and photographic images) should be of high quality, legible and numbered consecutively. The figure should be numbered and labelled as follows: Figure 1. Theoretical Framework

Tables

Tables should be typed and placed in the report. Tables in the form of image are not acceptable. All the tables should be labelled and numbered consecutively. The explanation of any superscript or asterisk should be

given at the end of the table as a footnote to the table. There should be no vertical lines in the tables. Each table should be placed on a separate page and nothing other should be placed on that page. The table should be numbered and labelled as follows: Table 1 Regression Table References References should be in the APA style and researchers should check them carefully in terms of their completeness, accuracy and consistency. The accuracy of references rests solely with the author(s). Researchers should cite the references in the text: (Jones, 2011), for two authors (Jones & Adam, 2010). For 3 or up to 6 authors use the names of all authors for citing the first time in the report (Jones, Adam & Pitman, 2009); for sub-sequent citations cite (Jones et al., 2009). For more than 6 authors for first and subsequent citations use (Akhtar et al., 2009). For the reference of website, please cite the website reference as footnote. At the end of the report a reference list in alphabetical order should be provided. The examples of references are given below: Journal Articles Bolino, C. M. (1999). Regarding presentation, please do not make messy slides. The slides should not be filled with whole paragraphs but give bulleted points following the rule of 6x6 (6 lines on a slide and 6 words in a line). Best of Luck Happy Research
