The Cruel King and the Loyal Painter By: Karan Bhasin

Once upon a time, in U.A.E., there was an evil king named Abdullah. He was the most evil and hated king in U.A.E. because he was unfair to all of the citizens so people brought him small gold coins so he may be a little lenient to their side of the argument. Abdullah was known as being very scary looking with long sharp fingernails. On the other hand Fareed was

completely passionate and delightful to all of the people. Though he was a painter, Fareed's paintings were known by many even though he was new to Abu-Dhabi because they were thoughtful and colorful. People were delighted to see his works of art. He always walked around with a smile. Other people came to him for advice, with personal life problems. One day Fareed was taking a walk down the road and saw a family of 5 sharing a lot of Hareez (traditional food of U.A.E.) and his heart turned warm for the love. But when he saw the kings men hurting the people who said bad things about the king. Not only the people also the small children and families too. Stomping rapidly like an elephant, Fareed reacted to this in a negative way. The Kings men gave Fareed the withering look. Then the men walked away and told the citizens ! (Which means nobody will be spared next time) The villagers thanked Fareed a lot for this great gesture he had made for them, How can we ever repay you? " ( "Just do your best, not to make it obvious when you say stuff about the king next time?) Fareed said with a little smirk. Together they laughed and discussed about how it is so wrong and corrupt to be so cruel to your civilians. Since fareed

was new to town, the villagers filled him in with the key facts. They also said that this has been happening for a long time now. ! ! Fareed said (Got to go! Bye!)

So Fareed stumbled home still a little shocked to see what type of government runs this country. He thinks to himself I wonder what I can do to teach King a lesson... and he realized that all he has to do is stand up for his rights! I have made up my mind. He said to himself. He goes to the courtroom and he starts to talk trash in front of the judge about the king. How dare you?!? You realize youre practically killing yourself, right? The judge confronts Fareed, about his little sneaky plan. Like I care, the king is so dumb and he is so full of himself! Fareed knew how dangerous he was being. Thats it, call the guards! the judge screamed. At this point Fareed hoped to god his plan would work. The guards took Fareed and put a black bag on him, he could feel that he was being pushed into a cattle or some sort of wooden object being controlled by horses or sheeps. He tried to act as if

he didn't really care, uh oh... what if I made the wrong decision???? What if I never should have come and tried to stand up for my rights? Are they going to kill me slowly or is the king going to want to get it over with really fast and quickly stab me? He kept on wondering about these types of things in his head. Once in a while he would feel a bump that hurt his head, he thought that if he lost a bit of memory on each hit than they might pity him. He knew how stupid he was being... The cattle suddenly stopped with a big noise. Within 2 minutes he was pulled out of the cattle and tugged to the kings castle. Who have you brought to me today? The king asked as if he owns everyone in that very room. Only the man who thinks he has rights to say discouraging words about you, my lord. The king went hmmmm when he found out the reason why Fareed was there. So, lets hear what this young man has to say for himself! the king says as if he is planning to slowly rip every hair off of my body. SPEAK BEFORE THE KING! said the helper whilst lifting my little hoodie and kneeing me on the nose.

I am here because I am not afraid of a cowardly king like you. You may have power, but you don't have any true loyal citizens. You are corrupt you have no meaning of honesty or integrity and even common courtesy. Fareed said out loud unknowingly. OH SHOOT, WHAT HAVE I DONE WHAT HAVE I DONE? Fareed thought to himself. Now you must be punished for your irresistible sins, he said glimming. Go ahead, Im not afraid of any cowards! Fareed exclaimed not knowing how the words were coming out of his mouth. That is what I shall do, but the difference between what happens to the other citizens is that they die by the guards hands. But for you, I will take the pleasure for myself! He shouted with a evil laugh, no more time to be spared. He said.

Walking off of his royal chair, the king jerked upwards. He walks across and takes one of the swords from his servant. Meanwhile Fareed is trying to unlock the ropes from the chair... he is struggling to because the kings men were certain to tighten the knot hard. At last he gets a good grip and un-ties the knot. The king is walking quite fast! The king comes up too Fareed and says,

I think we're done here Fareed smiles and says, I disagree. He quickly kicks King Abdullah and grabs the sword from him too. He places the sword on kings head. Things ought to be a little different around here! he says. Okay... okay Im sorry; I didn't mean any of this to happen! Please spare me, please spare me! Abdullah pleaded and begged. Fine, but if I hear of you doing this stuff again, then I must not spare you! Fareed proposed. You are the most empathetic and brave person I know. You have made the right decision! King Abdullah said. When Abdullah closed his eyes and took a deep breath for 1 second... Fareed had disappeared. This made him think that if Fareed could be so nice to his enemy than he could change his way of life. Plus he would never want to risk the fact that Fareed could beat him. From that day on, Fareed was never needed again and U.A.E was once again a safe place.
