3.4.2 If the trophy holder is the host Member Association, then Badminton Asia and Badminton Europe each will have four teams in the competition Groups The twelve teams shall play in four groups of three; Group A Group B Group C Group D 1 1 1 1 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 Draws The final ranking position of the teams in each continental qualifying zone will be used to determine the seed positions. The integration of teams from each qualification zone will be achieved by using the World Ranking of 1 March 2012 The draws will be made in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The date, time and venue will be confirmed and notified to you soon. The draws will be held live in front of an invited audience of guests and media and you are very welcome to attend. If you do wish to attend please contact the Events Department of Badminton World Federation who will do their best to assist you with further information. The Draw for the Knock-out stage shall follow T & U Cup competition regulation 3.8 and shall be carried out in the Stadium at the appropriate time; 3.8.1 The draw for the knock-out stage of the Competition shall be done immediately after the last match of the group play off is over. 3.8.2 Two top ranked teams from each group will qualify for this stage. 3.8.3 The top teams of each group will be ranked in order of their strength in the manner described in Regulation 3.4.6, based on the most recently published World Ranking immediately preceding the date of the draw. (The world ranking date used will be 17 May 2012) These teams will be considered as Seeds No. 1 to 4 for the draw. 3.8.4 The 4 seeded teams will be placed in the draw as per General Competition Regulation 12. Remaining teams will be placed in the draw by lot.
