Introduction A wireless sensor network consists of nodes that monitor environment and transfer data using network. MAC protocols used to control energy consumption in a wireless sensor network. Its also responsibility when and how to access the medium. Time Division Multiple Access are suitable for real time plication. Beacase it prevent radio interference, and reduce energy consumption. MAC protocol TDMA is used to collect data such as soil moisture and temperature of an irrigation system . Base station are used for collecting data using sensor nodes. All nodes are homogenous in a network. TDMA scheduler assigned the time slots for each node and those sensor nodes turn ON/OFF their radio according to the schedule to save energy[1]. TDMA based MAC protocol was used to collect environmental data such as soil moisture and temperature of an irrigation system[2]. The base station was collecting the data in a particular area using the sensor nodes also if collected information from base is less threshold value then base station inform controller to perform control action. Two scheduling used first one was direct communication method, in which each node transmitted the data directly to sink node. The second using data fusion method in which nodes were group into cluster to save energy The automatic irrigation developed using very accurate sensor. This system not only reduces the power consumption also reduce the man power for farming Automatic irrigation is done with the help of two sensors, solenoid valves and a pump. Direct communication method The basic scenario consists of a base station/sink and sensor nodes. Sensor nodeEach node consists of a moisture sensor and the temperature sensor The Soil Moisture sensor was used as a tool to optimize irrigation and to warn of plant stress at the dry or wet ends of the scale. It is a high performance accurate sensor. Aggregation method The main objective of the aggregation method was to reduce the energy consumption and to increase the network throughput. Two kind of energy conversion strategies are use to analyzed. both methods provide good energy conversion compare convictional method. References:
