C. Preparation of Bids

(b) The rates of exchange to be used by the Bidder in arriving at the local currency equivalent and the percentage(s) mentioned in (a) above shall be specified by the Bidder in the Appendix to Bid - Table C, and shall apply for all payments under the Contract so that no exchange rate risk will be borne by the successful Bidder. E. Evaluation, and Comparison of Bids

ITB 32.1 The currency that shall be used for bid evaluation and comparison purpose to convert all bid prices expressed in various currencies into a single currency is: Ethiopian Birr The source of exchange rate shall be: the one established by the National Bank of Ethiopia. The date for the exchange rate shall be: the date 28 days prior to the deadline for submission of bids, as eventually amended by the employer in accordance with the provisions of ITB 22.2. The currency (ies) of the Bid shall be converted into a single currency in accordance with the procedure under Alternative A as follows: For comparison of bids, the Bid Price, corrected pursuant to Clause 31, shall first be broken down into respective amounts payable in various currencies by using the exchange rates specified by the bidder in accordance with ITB 15.1 In the second step, the Employer will convert the amounts in various currencies in which the Bid Price is payable (excluding Provisional Sum but including daywork where priced competitively) to the single currency identified above at the selling rates established for similar transactions by the authority specified and on the date specified above. ITB 33.1 ITB 34.4 A margin of preference shall apply. The application Methodology shall be defined in Section III: Evaluation and Qualification criteria. ITB 34.4 is deleted and replaced with the following: ITB 34.4 If indicated in the BDS that these Bidding Documents allows Bidders to quote separate prices for different lots (contracts) they are qualified for, and the award to a single Bidder of multiple lots (contracts), the methodology to determine the lowest evaluated price of the lot (contract) combinations, including any discounts offered in the Letter of Bid Form, is specified in Section III, Evaluation and Qualification Criteria. Bidders are allowed to quote separate prices for each of the lots (Contracts) they are qualified for, and the award to a single bidder of multiple lots (Contracts) shall be on the basis of the methodology described in Section III, Evaluation and Qualification Criteria.
