EXAM FAQ Where do I take the Alcatel-Lucent SRC exams?

All exams except for the Alcatel-Lucent NRS II and SRA Lab Exams are available from Prometric test facilities globally. Individuals register for exams with Prometric directly. Go to www.prometric.com/alcatel-lucent for more information. The NRS II and SRA Practical Lab exams are available from select Alcatel-Lucent facilities. Visit http://www.alcatel-lucent.com/src/examreg to register for these exams. What information is needed to register for an Alcatel-Lucent SRC exam with Prometric? The passing mark is 80 percent for all SRC written and practical lab exams. How much time do I have to write the SRC exams? Can I re-write an exam if I have failed it? How long do I need to wait? And how many times can I take the exam? Students are eligible to re-take SRC written exams at anytime even if they have failed. There is no limit set on how many times you can attempt to re-write an exam and there is no waiting period required before re-taking a written exam. For the NRS II and SRA lab exams, candidates can re-take the exam 3 months after their previous lab examination date. I wrote my exam, but I havent received any email communication acknowledgment from Alcatel-Lucent. It may take up to five (5) business days for Alcatel-Lucent to receive an exam result from a Prometric test centre. Once Alcatel-Lucent has received the result for your SRC exam, our system will automatically send you an acknowledgment of your result.

Certification will be given to students who have passed the mandatory written and practical lab exams required for their chosen certification track. Is there a time limit for taking exams necessary for a certain level of certification? There is no time limit; you can take as long as you like to complete the exams. Once you are certified, however, you must re-certify every three years I have obtained a certification but I have not yet received my diploma or my exam tile for my plaque. Diplomas, plaques and exam tiles are shipped on a bi-monthly basis. Candidates can expect to receive their materials within 8 to 12 weeks from passing their exam. What do I need to do to re-certify? PROGRAM CHANGE FAQ What is the difference between NRS and NRS I?

The NRS certification has been rebranded to NRS I due to the introduction of the NRS II certification, thus the NRS and NRS I certifications are the same certification. The pass of the Alcatel-Lucent Scalable IP Networks exam (4A0-100) is required to obtain this certification. Why do I have a NRS certification and my co-worker received a NRS I certification? Candidates who passed their Alcatel-Lucent Scalable IP Networks exam (4A0-100) prior to November 25, 2008 have obtained a NRS certification. Candidates who pass this exam on or after November 25, 2008 will obtain a NRS I certification. I already have a 3RP certification. Do I need to write the new NRS II lab exam? The NRS II lab exam is not a prerequisite to achieving the 3RP certification up to May 31, 2009. As of June 1, 2009, the NRS II lab exam will be a prerequisite to achieve the 3RP certification. Thus, 3RP candidates wanting to achieve the SRA certification will be required to complete and pass the NRS II lab exam if this certification is not achieved by May 31, 2009. I already have a SRA certification. Do I need to write the new NRS II lab exam? The NRS II lab exam is not a prerequisite to achieving the SRA certification up to May 31, 2009. If you already have this certification, you do not need to complete the NRS II lab exam unless you would like to complete it and obtain the NRS II certification. As of June 1, 2009, the NRS II lab exam will be a prerequisite to achieve the SRA certification. If I am exempt from having to write the NRS II lab exam because I have achieved my 3RP or SRA certification by May 31, 2009, will I obtain the NRS II certification? To obtain the NRS II certification, all candidates regardless of their certification level, must complete and pass the NRS II lab exam.
