After both factories have employed and equal number of workers, the number of workers in Factory Q becomes twice that in Factory P. How many additional workers has each factory employed? 9. Helen and Dorothy have some marbles. If Helen gives Dorothy 15 marbles, both of them will have the same number of marbles. If Dorothy gives Helen 15 marbles, Helen will have twice as many marbles as Dorothy. How many marbles does each girl have (D->75, H->105) 10. Mrs Wong bought 6kig of beef and 2kg of mutton. Mrs Lim bought 6kg of mutton and 2kg of beef. Mrs Wong paid $20 more than Mrs Lim. If 1kg of mutton cost $8 find the cost of 1kg of beef.

He sold to Adam 3/4of the apples and another 105 apples. He sold to Gerarldine 3/4 of the remainder but took back 55 apples. Farmer Dan had 890 apples left. 7. A bus left the interchange with some passengers. At the first bus-stop, 1/10 of the passenger alighted and 9 passengers boarded the bus. There were 35 passengers on board the bus before it stopped at the third bus stop. How many passengers boarded the bus at the interchange?

8. An egg-seller had some chicken eggs and duck eggs. He had 96 more chicken eggs than duck eggs. After he had sold 3/4 of the chicken eggs and 2/3 of the duck eggs, he found that he had 150 eggs left. Find the total number of eggs he had at first? 9. Miss Lee baked 24 more chocolate muffins than banana muffins. After she gave away 1/6 of the chocolate muffins and 3/8 of the banana muffins, she was left with 35 more chocolate muffins than banana muffins. How many chocolate muffins did she bake at first? 10. There were 864 more chocolate muffins than banana muffins in a shop. After 1/6 the chocolate muffins and 3/4 of the banana muffins were sold, there were 1728 more chocolate muffins than banana muffins left. How many chocolate muffins were there at first? 11. There were 800 guppies and swordfish in an aquarium. After 2/5 of the swordfish and 3/5 of the guppies were sold, there were 414 guppies and swordfish left. What fraction of the fish were guppies at first?

12. There were some people travelling on a bus. At the first stop, 1/5 of the passengers alighted and 24 passengers boarded the bus. At the next stop 1/8 of the passengers in the bus alighted and 10 passengers boarded the bus. There were 45 passengers in the bus then. How many passengers were there at first? 13. There were 121 animals in a farm. 8/9 of the cows and 4/5 of the ducks were sold. In all, 104 animals were sold. How many ducks were there in the farm at first? 14. Jeremy had a container filled with a number of 20-cent, 50-cent and $1 coins. 1/5 of the 20-cent coins is equal to 2/3 of the 50-cents coins. There were 3/8 as many 50-cent coins as $1 coins. If the total value of these coins was $6900, how many coins did Jeremy had altogether? 15. During a fund raising project, class 5A raised 2/3 as much money as the total amount raised by classes 5B and 5C. Class 5B raised 1/5 as much money as the total amount raised by class 5A and 5C. (a) What fraction of the funds was raised by class 5A? (b) Class 5B raised $104 less than class 5C. How much money did class 5C raise? 16. Harry had a bag of sweets. He gave 32 sweets to his sister. After that, he gave 1/4 of the remaining sweets and another 6 sweets to Bala. In the end, the number of sweets Harry had left was 1/2 the number of sweets in the bag at first. How many sweets were there in the bag at first?
