A note to you, Camp season is near again. We are again looking for summer staff: young people, 18 years and older, who will work with children at the camp in June and July. If you know of someone, please have them call the office and get an application or go online to the association web site www.boonescreekbaptistassoc.com. Happy Easter As we celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 31, remember what the angel said in Matthew 28:5-6, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. Lets go and tell the Good News that we have a Risen Savior. As Jesus told us in: Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Reminder: Spring Semi-Annual Meeting On April 8, we will hold Spring Semi-Annual Meeting at Salem Baptist in Irvine, KY. At this meeting the churches will send messengers elected by the church. There can be five to twelve messengers according to the resident membership totals of the church. Please come and participate. Bro. Todd Wiley of Reid Village Baptist Church will deliver the doctrinal sermon. In Business: we will vote on new officers and committees for 2013-2014 and the associational budget for 2013-2014. Reminder: Area Hymn Sings Spring Hymn Sings will be here before the next Tidings. I hope your choir will participate. Winchester Hymn Sing is April 22 at Ephesus Baptist. Irvine Hymn Sing is April 23 at Williams Memorial Baptist. Mt. Sterling Hymn Sing is April 25 at Spears Mill Baptist. Food For Thought: Dr. A. W. Tozer said, Let us be confident, Christian brethren, that our power does not lie in the manger at Bethlehem nor in the relics of the Cross. True spiritual power resides in the victory of the mighty, resurrected Lord of glory, who could pronounce after spoiling death: "All power is given me in heaven and in earth." The power of the Christian believer lies in the Savior's triumph of eternal glory! Christ's resurrection brought about a startling change of direction for the believers. Sadness and fear and mourning marked the direction of their religion before they knew that Jesus was raised from the dead-their direction was towards the grave. When they heard the angelic witness, "He is risen, as He said," the direction immediately shifted away from the tomb "He is risen, indeed!" If this is not the meaning of Easter, the Christian church is involved only in a shallow one-day festival each year. Thankfully, the resurrection morning was only the beginning of a great, vast outreach that has never ended-and will not end until our Lord Jesus Christ comes back again! Yours in Christ, Bro. John Ryder
