All: God of Radical Love, have mercy on us.

Though you gave us your son,who lived among us, ! teaching us your ways. We turned away. All: God of Radical Love, have mercy on us. Though you gave us your son, who healed our illnesses, who removed our demons, We turned away. All: God of Radical Love, have mercy on us. Though you gave us your son, we did not feed him when he was hungry, or offer drink when he was thirsty, We did not visit him in prison, when he was sick, or wipe his tears. We turned away. All: God of Radical Love, have mercy on us. Though we are unworthy you gave us your son, who washed our feet, who prayed for us, who sought to love us as a hen loves her brood. And we turned away. All: God of Radical Love, have mercy on us. Though we are unworthy you gave us your son, who gave his body, his blood, and his unconditional love, You gave us your son, who gave his all. And still we turn away. All: God of Radical Love, have mercy on us. The Lords Prayer (debts, debtors) Hymn Were You There When They Crucied My Lord? #229 verse 3 Dismissal Our Lord Jesus Christ reminds us: The world cannot accept God, because the world neither sees nor knows him; but you know him, because he dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you bereft; I am coming back to you. (John 14: 17-18 REB) All: Holy God of Radical Love, mighty God,Ever-living God, ! have mercy on us.

*Call to Worship! ! ! ! ! ! Minister: We gather to remember the one who was wounded by our transgressions, crushed by our iniquities; Through him we were made whole, and by his bruises we are healed. All: Christ himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. *Invocation Ruler and God of all creation, We come to you, this evening mindful of your worthiness, You alone are due our worship. We know that you are ever-present in our lives, yet we sometimes forget you. Make yourself known to us, heighten our sensitivities, expand our openness, that we might recognize your presence this evening. Make yourself known to us, on this somber and holy day. May our worship be acceptable to you. Amen *Hymn Were You There When They Crucied My Lord? #229 verse 1 Luke 23: 32-34 Leader 1: Two others also, who were criminals, were led away to be put to death with him.
