MECHANICAL ENGINEERING Co-op Entry, 120 credit program

Notes (taken from the Undergraduate Calendar): 71.10.4 Prerequisites 1. Students are responsible for ensuring that they have successfully completed all prerequisites to a course before attempting to register for the course. 2. Students must complete all 200-lvl courses required for their program before registering for 400-lvl courses. 3. All 200-lvl courses within the program which are prerequisites for other courses must be completed with a C- or higher. A 200-lvl course in which a student has obtained a D+ or lower must be repeated before attempting a course for which it is a prerequisite. 4. A student who has registered for a course without satisfactorily completing all prerequisites may be withdrawn from the course. 71.20.7 Writing Skills Requirement All students admitted to the Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science as of September 2001 must meet the writing skills requirement. To do this, students can write the Engineering Writing Test (EWT), or take ENCS 272 and earn a grade of C- or better. Newly admitted students are strongly encouraged to meet the requirement very early in their program (fall term of first year for students starting in September or winter term of first year for students starting in January) in order to avoid the risk of delayed graduation should remedial work prove necessary. The Engineering Writing Test is especially designed to address the writing skills typically demanded of engineers. Students who are required to take ESL courses should meet the writing skills requirements in the term following completion of their ESL courses. All ESL and English/French language courses taken to satisfy this requirement are in addition to engineering program requirements. Other: 1. Technical electives must be chosen from the approved list in the Undergraduate Calendar ONLY. For information concerning available technical electives, please refer to section 71.40 of the Undergraduate Calendar: http://registrar.concordia.ca/calendar/pdf/sec71.40.pdf 2. For course descriptions and prerequisite requirements: http://registrar.concordia.ca/calendar/pdf/sec71.60.pdf 3. If you want/need to make changes to your course sequence, please consult with your Academic Program Assistant first. Failing to do so could result in unexpected delays to your program.
