FIRST GENERAL MEETING OF THE YEAR 2012-2013!!! Serve on


1. Poster Painting When: Tuesday, October 2 What: Are you artsy? Heres the chance to showcase your talent! Poster painting is a monthly event that allows members to come out and paint posters to publicize for our upcoming events. Time: 2pm 4:00pm Where: Outside of Mr. Kuos room (Room 196) Hours: 2 hours Maximum Number of Members: 20 *Publicity committee members are required to come!* 2. UNICEF Trick-or-Treat Donation Box When: Throughout October & November (Deadline to turn in the boxes with donations will be announced later) What: UNICEF is one of our Key Club Internationals project partners. UNICEF strives to reduce the number of preventable childhood deaths. We will be collecting donations for UNICEF in the little orange Trick-or-Treat boxes. Hours: $10=1 hour, MAXIMUM OF 5 HOURS *Pick up a donation box from Mrs. Mesdjians room (263) or Mr. Kuos room (196)* 3. Boba Fundraiser for Pediatric Trauma Program When: Tuesday, October 9 What: Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) is the Governors Focus for the 2012-2013 year. Raising money for PTP will help develop local projects which will reduce the number of children in our district who are killed or injured by trauma. Help the children! Save the world little by little by buying boba! Time: After school 3pm - 4pm Where: Front gate 1 for $3 and 2 for $5, woohoo! 4. Isaiahs Rock When: Saturday, October 13 & Saturday, October 27 What: Isaiahs Rock is a non-profit organization that provides food and warmth to the families in the area. We will be packing various items to be distributed to the families in need. It is a great opportunity to bond with our Key Clubbers. <3 Time: 9am -12pm for both days Where: 13031 7th St. Chino, CA Hours: 3 hours for each day Maximum Number of Members: 15 for each day 5. October Divisional Council Meeting (DCM) When: Saturday, October 13 What: Another exciting DCM is coming up! DCM is a divisional meeting where 10 Key Clubs of different high schools come together to discuss old and new businesses! DBHS Key Club will be hosting this months DCM, so come out and lets show who we are! We will be going over the divisional cheers for the Fall Rally at Six Flags in November. Time: 1:30pm 3:30pm Where: Ronald Reagan Park Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! :D *Officers are required to come*

Bonelli Triathlon When: Sunday, October 14 What: Do you like to run or watch people run? Whatever your answer may be, this event will be a blast because youll be sharing your early morning with the runners! We will be helping run the triathlon smoothly! Why dont you come out and share your lovely morning with even more lovelier Key Clubbers? Time: Shift 1: 5:30am -10:30am Shift 2: 8:30am -1:30pm Where: Bonelli Park (120 Via Verde, San Dimas, CA 91773) Hours: 5 hours per shift Maximum Number of Members: 20 7. Diamond Bar City Haunted House Informational Meeting When: Monday, October 15 What: If you are planning on setting up for the annual haunted house hosted by our city, it is imperative that you attend this meeting! Your presence at this meeting will help run the haunted house preparation smoothly! Time: 7pm-8pm Hours: 1hour Where: Heritage Park Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! 8. Haunted House When: TBA What: We will be helping Diamond Bar City set up for the haunted house. We will also be able to work the haunted house on Halloween, October 31. More information to come! Time: TBA Where: Heritage Park Hours: TBA Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! 9. Branding Iron Concession Stand (Away Side) When: Friday, October 19 What: Key Club will be working the concession stand (away side) at the Branding Iron game! Buy snacks and drinks from us! 10. Hacienda Heights Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast When: Saturday, October 20 What: We will be helping set up, make, and serve pancakes to the volunteers. We will also be able to bond with Hacienda Heights Kiwanis! What a blast! Time: 6am-11am Where: Bell Memorial United Methodist Church (1747 Nogales St. Rowland Heights, CA 91748) Hours: 5 hours Maximum Number of Members: 5

11. Buckboard Days Parade When: Saturday, October 20 What: We will be setting up and helping run the parade smoothly. It is recommended that you arrive at the designated place (look below) early because roads will be blocked off at around 7:30. If you get there after 8, you can only get picked up/dropped off at the Rite Aid next to the Post Office on Nogales because the road will be closed. Time: 7:30am 1pm Where: Big Lots on Colima (1730 Nogales Street Rowland Heights, CA) Hours: 5.5 hours Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! 12. Buckboard Days Festival When: Saturday, October 20 What: We will be setting up and running the booth at this festival! This will be considered as a separate event as the Buckboard Days Parade. Time: 8am-3:30pm Where: Banida Park (1500 S. Banida Ave. Rowland Heights, CA) Hours: 7.5 hours Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! 13. Amnesty International Benefit Concert When: Sunday, October 21 What: Amnesty International, a human rights organization that aims to spread awareness and combat human rights abuses, is hosting a benefit concert. Buy a ticket for $10. They do not need any more volunteers, so simply go enjoy the concert and change the world little by little. You will only get the hours if you purchase a ticket. Go to room 263 to buy it! Time: 6pm- 9pm Where: Diamond Bar Center (so convenient! ) Hours: 3 hours Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! 14. Movie Day for PTP When: Tuesday, October 23 What: This is a monthly movie day to raise money for PTP. Come in to Mrs. Mesdjian s room (263) to relax and watch a movie with your fellow Key Clubbers. How easy is that? Watch a movie, give back to the community, and help out PTP, ALL AT THE SAME TIME! All profit will go to PTP. Time: 3pm 5pm Where: Mrs. Mesdjians room (263) Fee: $3 (we will provide snacks and drinks, YUM ) Maximum Number of Members: Unlimited! Hours: 2 hours

1. Box Tops What: Bring in 10 box tops to help the local elementary schools. When: Bring them in on General Meeting Days or Mrs. Mesdjians Room (Room 263) Maximum # of Hours: 5 *Write your name and grade, and the amount on zip lock bag* 2. Tab Tops What: Bring in 20 metal tab tops from soda cans be donated to Ronald McDonald House. When: Bring them in on General Meeting Days or Mrs. Mesdjians Room (Room 263) Maximum # of Hours: 5 *Write your name and grade, and the amount on zip lock bag* 3. Wear your shirt to general meetings+ bring two empty bottles = 1 hour! ONLY $10! Small, medium, and large sizes are all available in Mrs. Mesdjians Room! (Room 263) 4. Yard Sale Donations What: Bring donations for DBHS Key Club yard sales! Clothes, books, toys, etc. Where: To Mr. Kuos Room (196) Hours: 2 full plastic bags full of donations: 1 hour Maximum # of Hours: 3 *Write your name and grade, and the amount on the plastic bag* 5. South Pointe Tutoring What: Help the middle school students with homework at their afterschool program When: Every Monday-Thursday of the week Time: 2:30pm 5pm (Their actual homework time is 3:30pm-4:30pm, but you can go early or stay a little longer to help the students) Where: South Pointe Teen Scene (The building to the right when you pull up. It will say Teen Scene) Hours: will depend on your arrival and departure. Please sign in and out on the Key Club Sign In sheet on the wall of the class room.
