Ranger GRIDS

GROUND-BASED DETECTION OF MOTION IN DENSE FOLIAGE AND ROUGH TERRAIN

APPLICATIONS

FEATURES Detects vehicles and walking personnel in foliage, rough terrain, and all weather conditions Provides a gap filler for wide area radars and optical sensors

OVERVIEW Rough terrain and foliage can cause coverage gaps in surveillance systems using ground-based radar and optical systems. Ranger GRIDS is a low cost system designed to fill these gaps. Each Ranger GRIDS system consists of an array of very low power sensors set up along a border or around a perimeter. Multiple systems can be implemented to form a sensor barrier of any length.

BORDER SECURITY PERIMETER SECURITY BUILDING PROTECTION ROADSIDE ANIMAL DETECTION TRAFFIC SENSING

Ranger GRIDS system sensors can be buried, leaving only a small May be used as a stand-alone camouflaged antenna above ground. Intruders are detected when intrusion detection system for they pass between adjacent sensors. Unattended, each sensor has border and/or perimeter defense a potential operational life of up to 6 years. Multiple opportunities for intrusion detection with typical sensor array configuration The system is relatively insensitive to small animals, thereby minimizing nuisance alarms. Automatic adjustment to changing environmental conditions (such as wind, rain, and foliage growth) prevents false alarms and the operating frequency is impervious Redundant communication links to these environmental conditions. Built-in test features provide in case of tampering and/or unit system health information and the ability to reprogram system failure parameters for optimal operation. GRIDS Control Panel (GCP) System sensors communicate with a nearby, unmanned Gateway automatically re-establishes that relays data to a manned location. Only the last sensor in the lost connections between the array must have access to the Gateway, leaving an unprecedented Gateway and the Server flexibility of placement for all other sensors in the array. Ultra low power design years of unattended operation Able to network with other systems for an integrated command and control solution Easily be networked into a larger security system of radars and optical sensors
