2008 was a great year with a group of 34 having an authentic “Hawaiian” experience ... by
actually traveling to Hawaii! We had a once in a lifetime workshop with Kunewa Mook (voice
from Lilo & Stitch) the Kumu Hula for the TOP Hawaiian Halau, Kamuela. We experienced a
fun backyard luau at Germaine’s. We traveled the Polynesian Islands at the Polynesian Cultural
Centre. We met TOP Hawaiian artist Kim Taylor Reece. We swam in the many shores around
Oahu. We made our way through the Dole Pineapple Maze. We visited the Memorial at Pearl
Harbor. Among many other activities (like eating JUMBO pizzas at Costco) we just enjoyed the
‘tourist’ time and ‘shopping’! HALAU MASCOTS
2008 also welcomed TWO new editions to the Heilani Mascot team! Leitualole Ka’iulani Tagata - 3yrs
Tagata was born on September 15th. Heilani Leitualole Tagata - 5months
Tahiata was born exactly 6 weeks later on Heilani Tahiata - 4months
October 27th. Ka’iulani Tagata turned 3 years
old on November 8th.
THIS YEAR - 2009 - we have many PERFORMANCE TEAM EVENTS
exciting and new changes! The first week back to Food Garden Opening
classes will be a FREE orientation week to get SAT 7th FEB - 9:45am
everyone accustomed to the new schedule. Please Griffith University - Logan

PERFORMANCE TEAM
We welcome anyone interested in joining
the performance team. The teams will be
divided by ages (JRs = Primary School Age /
SRs = High School to Adult Age). You must
inquire with one of the instructors if you
wish to audition for this class. You are still
required to attend regular Halau classes - if
you are accepted into the Performance Team.
The Performance Team classes will require
you to follow along and keep up (at an
advanced pace).

Halau Classes - please inquire about family
rates with one of the instructors! You may
receive a family discount by paying Full Price
for the first student and 1/2 Price for every
