Heavy fixings
Light fixings
The most common building material. Concrete is mainly used in industrial building because of its high strength. In housebuilding typical concrete structures are foundations, supporting structures, midsoles and stair elements. All expanding anchors as well as chemical anchors are suitable for use in concrete. Restrictions of use are spacings and edge distances.
SOLID BRICK
A very common building material. Brick is used mainly in small house building. In industrial building brick is mainly used as material of separating structures. All expanding anchors as well as chemical anchors are suitable for use in brick. Restrictions of use are spacings, edge distances and sizes of fixings (max. M 8 is recommended).
HOLLOW BRICK
A very common building material. Hollow brick is mainly used as material for separating structures, and in constructions where some kind of thermal isolation is required. Suitable anchors for hollow brick are Nylon plugs made with a long expanding zone as well as injection resins used with a sleeve. Restrictions of use are the same as in solid brick.
NATURAL STONE
Main use in buidings is in covering surfaces like facades and floors. All expanding and chemical anchors are suitable for use in natural stone. Restrictions of use are spacings and edge distances. Because of brittleness, stone cracks easily.
AERATED CONCRETE
A rather common building material in all building because of its weight and flexibility in use. Aerated concrete is used mostly in separating structures, but also in supporting structures. Suitable anchors for aerated concrete are Nylon plugs with long expansion zone and those, specially designed for this material, like KBT. Chemical fixings can be used with restricions ( special shape of the hole).
LIGHT GROVEL
A common building material in small house building. It is mainly used in foundations and supporting structures. Suitable anchors for this material are Nylon plugs with long expanding zone. Chemical anchors can be used with restrictions (special shape of the hole).
PLASTERBOARD
A very common building material in all building. Main use of this material is in surface structures. Suitable fixings are hollow wall and cavity anchors.

In anchoring, distances like spacings and edge distances have remarkable influence in capacities. Capacities for different types of anchors in the table below are based on tests in which the distances shown in the table have been used. If the distances are reduced, the capacities are also decreasing. Unless it is not separately mentioned, the capacities of anchors on the product sides are based on the spacings and edge distances in the table below.

Heavy duty anchor is available in two versions, HDP with hexagonal bolt and HDS with stud, nut and washer. These anchors are suitable for meadium heavy and heavy fixings in solid and hard materials like concrete, also cracked concrete, brick (max. M 8) and natural stone. Due to its powerful and controlled expansion it is suitable for heavy loads. The deforming ring guarantees that after tightening the anchor, the fixture is completely and strongly attached to the base.

Screw anchors are developed from through bolts by equipping them with a female thread. Screw anchors are designed for inattentive installations due to their countersunk screw. These anchors can be installed in hard and solid embedments like concrete, solid brick and natural stone. Stainless steel anchors, RAR and RAH are delivered without screw. Screw anchors are often used in fixing doorsteps, window frames and structures for balcony glazing.

RIP L
Sormat installation bars are manufactured of cold rolled hot dip galvanized steel. Installation bars are most often used as base structures in different types of pipe and channel supporting systems. Due to all round perforation, installation bars are suitable structures for both threaded bar and banding applications.

Sormat facade anchor RU is designed for repair fixing different kind of cortical structures like sandwich elements. The fixing is done through the shell and the isolation layers into the bearing structure. RU anchor is made of stainless steel.
Drill a 14 mm hole in a specified angle or perpendicular. The depth of the hole is depending on the structure and desired capacity.
Mounting and tightening of the anchoring element is done with a settingtool. The fixing is tightened by using the support bushing, washer and a nut.
Sormat Strain anchor PU is used together with the facade anchor RU in situations where the supporting steel structures of a sandwich element can no more withstand the pressure forces caused by the facade anchor. The strain anchor works in two phases. The inner anchoring element is anchored into the bearing structure like a torque controlled anchor. The outer anchoring element is tightened into the shell layer with a setting tool (page 48).

Install the ERK bracket in the structure with a suitable anchor. Slip the pendulum arm and lock it in the brackets slotted hole. Mount the isolation using a mounting chablon so that the pendlum arm pierces the isolation, and lock it with a locking plate. Release pendulum arm from the slot. Remove the mounting chablon and place the isolation tight against each other. Now the pendulum arm is going to set in about 20 degrees angle downwards and makes an articulated connection to the base structure. Install the plastering net and lock it with two locking plates.
INSTALLED ERK
Plastering is done with machine. Due to that the net will stay inside the plastering layer.
Sormat ERK is delivered as a ready to install device consisting the bracket to be mounted in the structure, pendulum arm according to isolation thickness and three locking plates. All components are made of stainless steel.
ERK
The LRH fitting can also be used as an alternative fixing in the base structure. LRH shall be mounted to the base material with a suitable anchor. LRH is made of stainless steel. Additional data upon request.

Distance bracket RVK is developed to fix 19x19 mm plastering net on the structure so, that there will remain a desired space between the base structure and the net. This will allow the plaster layer to settle on both sides of the net. The bracket shall be fixed in the base material with suitable anchor with high corrosion resistance. Average consumption is 4 - 7 pcs / sqm, depending on the quality of the base material and the thickness of the plastering layer.

An example of using LPT when mounting an ERK in a plastered aerated concrete base.
Drill a hole using a sleeve drill through the plaster into the base
Install a plug for aerated concrete and screw in the LPT so, that the hexagonal flange is at the level of the plaster surface
Attach the ERK in the shorter thread of the LPT using a nut. The flange of the LPT takes the force of tightening the nut without affecting the plug in the base material

JS
Cable tie JS is designed to be used in making bundles, as well as bandagin all kind of bunches. The function of JS is based on serrated tie and a locking mechanism which allow the tie to tighten almost stepless around the bundle. As rawmaterial is used Polyamide 66 (Nylon) which is strong, tough and has excellent temperature- and chemical resistance. JST is a plug to be installed in concrete and other hard base materials. An installed plug has a function of a socket for cable ties. Drill a hole 8mm, depth 36 mm and hammer gently the plug into the hole. Observe the desired direction of the opening in the head of the plug. JST in use

Cable supports VVL is used between cable and installation profile to protect cable mantle. When clamping several cables with one clamp, the VKA is used between two cables to protect cable mantels and to give distance between cables and by that mean prevent possible overheating. The supports are made of weather resistant Polyamide (Nylon).

Steel failure can be calculated from formula As x fuk where As is the area of the anchor under stress load, and fuk is the ultimate strength of the raw material. Steel failure is the biggest achievable resistance for an anchor.
Displacement is anchors movement out from the installation hole. Loads that create displacement are different in sizes among different types of anchors. Loads that create displacement can be determined only experimentally.
N
Concrete failure is essentially affected by two parameters; compression strength of the concrete member and effective anchorage depth of the anchor.
