We used it when we talked about how Hamilton accepted the Zenger case. With this both us and the viewer learned of what Zengers lawyer looked like in his youth. This was a section of the book that we found on a website. It was taken word for word, so we cited the actual source which was Alexanders book. This source contained a transcript of the court proceedings during the trial. This video is a primary source about the Arab Spring and how social media affected it as a series of events. This was helpful because social media is highly related to freedom of press, opinion, and speech. This primary source article about the Tiananmen Square Massacre gave us a quote that we utilized in our History without Freedom of the Press page and was very important for us to understand how severe the massacre was. Linder, Douglas. "The Trial of John Peter Zenger." The Trial of John Peter Zenger. Law2.umkc.edu, n.d. Web. 19 Feb. 2013. This website was by far the most useful source to find primary sources. It had a collection of several pictures and firsthand accounts from the people, places, quotes and letters sent. Along with most of the pictures, we found the Cosby letters, a transcript of the trial, songs published, and more letters by the protagonists of the trial on this website. We knew they were legitimate as they matched several primary sources and quotes we also found in the books. Aside from grasping the animosity between the people and Cosby to the fullest by reading their actual complaints of one another, we didnt really learn anything from this source. We xxxxxlearned of how Hamilton admitted to Zengers publishing but then he saved xxxxxZenger by asking for Jury Nullification and claiming that everything xxxxxpublished was true. Zenger was arrested trying to do just that and his arrest brought forth a law so future printers would not be arrested for fulfilling the duties this quote calls for from printers. This showed us how the reactions of the press had a great influence on politics, especially in this case where the pundits attacked Barack Obama. This gave us multiple quotes about the cases importance and impact on the media and libel. Print.This was one our best sources, a book summarizing the life of John Peter Zenger and going in depth on the trial and its other figures. It helped us on multiple pages, including the one about John Peter Zenger and all of the events before the trial. From this book we also found the relevance of the Bill of Rights. This source contained several primary sources, but since we found them on website sources as well, this it is classified a secondary source. Also on the back the book provided a timeline about Zengers life and the events that led to the trial. The dates and our own timeline were inspired from this timeline. Gold, Susan Dudley.
