com 2 Indian Ambassador to Bhutan Pawan Varma Resigned Indian Diplomat Pavan K. Varma in October 2012 resigned as Indias ambassador to Bhutan with an idea of entering into politics. Ambassador Pavan Varma is set to join the Janata DalUnited (JDU). He asserted that he wants to contribute to clean politics and good governance in the country. Pawan Varma, is a 1976 batch IFS officer and had taken voluntary retirement but is going to demits office on 31 December 2012. Pakistan Cabinet Ratified the Landmark Visa Pact with India Pakistans Cabinet on 31 October 2012 ratified four recent agreements with India. The major of which is landmark visa pact aimed at facilitating restrictions on several categories of travellers, including senior citizens and businessmen. The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister of Pakistan M Raja Pervez Ashraf who also ratified three other agreements that is going to promote trade between the Pakistan and India. The visa agreement was signed by then external affairs minister S.M. Krishna and Pakistans interior minister Rehman Malik in Islamabad on 8 September 2012. HCL Signed MoU with Madhya Pradesh Government for speedy clearance Public sector Enterprise Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) on 31 October 2012 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Madhya Pradesh government for obtaining required clearances of its proposed investment of 1856 crore Rupees in the state. The MoU was signed between HCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director K.D. Diwan, and Arun Kumar Bhatt, Managing Director, MP Trade & Investment Facilitation Corporation Ltd (TRIFAC), at a global investor summit in Indore. HCL is Planning to build a five million tonne capacity underground mine beneath its present opencast mine at Malanjkhand by 2017-18. India and UK Amended pact on Avoidance of Double Taxation India and the United Kingdom on 30 October 2012 signed a protocol amending the 1993 bilateral convention on avoidance of double taxation and prevention of fiscal evasion related to taxes on income and capital gains.
