9. Hardware
Hardware Requirements
1. Processor Pentium IV or above: Needed for the complex calculations such as calculating the gross salary, overtime hours, late coming, absent, and net salary for the end of each month. As the payroll staff have to finish all these for the end of the month for all the staffs in the school, to save time the processor should be Pentium IV or above. Searches such as late comers, absentees, check whether any absentee has given medical reports etc. needs to be checked and the easiest and fastest way to do so is to search which the Pentium IV will allow. 2. Memory RAM 512 Mb or above: The new system runs on an operating system, and it will use Microsoft Access and the database and all these needs to be saved at once or at times when they are opened. Thus, a satisfying spaced RAM is needed to accommodate for this. Moreover, on screen information will be more frequently used in the new system and these also have to be saved on the memory. Hence, a good RAM such as 512 Mb spaced RAM must be used. If the needed amount of space is not available in the new system, the system will be slow and processing and inputting data will be slow and problems will start to rise. 3. Storage Hard Disk 240 GB or above To store the operating system, Microsoft Access and the new system on the hard disk, a satisfying space is needed, thus 240 GB is superior to use.

Any other programs which may, at a later date be added to the system will also accommodate space so at least 240 GB is gratifying for the new system
4. Display LCD monitor The use of an LCD monitor in the new system will prevent the payroll staff from having any strain in their eyes. Display neat writings Since the user will be using several on screen forms, a LCD monitor is the minimum, perfect technology to use in the new system 5. Printer Laser Printer must be used to print the required registers as it uses less power and prints efficiently The output reports, documents must be readable and a minimum laser printer must be used 6. Mouse Optical scroll mouse The staff must be able to click on command buttons for different commands throughout the process Use in scrolling through and searching specific data in the database 7. Keyboard Data needs to be entered to the system with the use of a keyboard and the user will be able to use shortcut keys which helps the user save quite a lot of time 8. Backup Pendrive Use of pendrive is very efficient as it is portable and allows the user to store large capacity of data in a small space
