About the CDM Program

In an effort to reduce world-wide greenhouse gas emissions, developed and developing countries joined together under the Kyoto Protocol to establish financial incentives for the initiation of environmentally beneficial development projects, such as installation of anaerobic digesters. One of these incentives, known as the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), enables developed countries to foster implementation projects that reduce emissions in developing countries. LANDBANK serves as a coordinating and managing entity for CDM Program of Activities (PoA) in the Philippines.
