Test K-DES N.1 Applied in Viscera avoids the decomposition

and allows the preservation of organic matter.

www.abc-des.com

TO SUMMARIZE:

- Product K-DES® is a 25% water solution that avoids the decomposition and
allows the preservation of organic matter, not only when applied by spraying but
also when applied by immersion.

- Product K-DES® is a 25% water solution that avoids the decomposition and
allows the preservation of organic matter, even after the process of
decomposition has already started.

- Product K-DES® can be reused without reducing its preserving effect, avoids
the decomposition and allows the preservation of organic matter.

- When used by spraying, product K-DES® preserves and avoids the

decomposition and allows the preservation of organic matter for over 96 hours.
The application of a 25% water solution of K-DES® provides the samples with
an insect repellent and leaves them soft enough to ease its future treatment and
elimination.

- For the reason that K-DES® must be applied by spraying when a farming scope
is concerned, and waiting for new tests for this to be confirmed, we can draw
the conclusion that bodies can remain for a period of 96 hours without great in-
convenience for the environment.

- K-DES® is a nontoxic product, nor ADR, which avoids the decomposition and
allows the preservation of organic matter, helping the bio safety of the
environment in which it is applied.

Previous notes on the test

Objective

The aim is to fulfil a study on the effects of K-DES® on organic matter. For this test,
we have used pig kidneys for the application, in order to try K-DES® on a very spe-
cial and delicate base, due to its high contents of vessels.

Best conditions

Across the document we refer to observed daily conditions, but we can add that,
except where indicated, they have been kept in closed plastic containers in order to
avoid, especially in the case of the reference one, insects proliferation. This fact,
however, does not avoid the natural decomposition process, but since the contain-
ers where kept in the open air, this was necessary to avoid the action of animals
such as sea gulls, pigeons, cats, …

The test took place along the period between 16th may and 26th may, 2006, in the
city of Vigo.

In order to assess the treatment, we have used variables such as appearance and
colour which are not subjective, due to the remarkable changes observed in the
sample.

Start of the test

OBSERVATIONS

K-DES® is a translucent product, not crystalline, of quick action and with a very par-
ticular smell, what allows to differenciate treated from not treated samples, in a se-
cure and easy way.

At the start of the test three pig kidneys were selected and classified as follows:

One of the samples (A) was put, with no previous treatment, in a plastic container.

The second sample (B) was sprayed on with a 25 % water solution of the product
K-DES®.

The third sample (C) was put in a container along with a 25% solution of K-DES® .

This are the three kidneys in the

state in which the test was carried
out. .

Air temperature at the start of the test was 22ºC.

SPRAYING – B

This is the appearance of the sam-

ple once the solution of K-DES®
was applied on the surface by
spraying.

As it can be seen in the series of attached pictures, the action is immediate and we
can see the effect of the application of the solution only after a short period of time.

Effects after seven hours from the start of the test

P5160169

REFERENCE – A

As we can see there is a darkening on

the surface colour and the smell starts
to be nauseating.

P5160168

SPRAYING – B

As we can see, the colour keeps sta-

ble and it has the characteristic K-
DES® smell.

P5160170

IMMERSION – C

This is the appearance after the sam-

ple is taken out.

Just by looking at it we can easily see the difference between the sample that has
been immersed, the sprayed one, keeping all its original physic properties and the
non-treated sample, in which we start to note the deterioration of its appearance and
smell.

2BDay 1 – 17-05-2006 Test K-DES® I

Day 1 – 17-05-2006

The next pictures were taken after 24 hours from the start of the test. Air tempera-
ture was 22ºC.

Sample A - Reference

After a 24-hour period from the start of the test, we can perceive a notable smell.
We could see flies around even with the sample still kept covered. As for the smell,
just to indicate that the state of decomposition is obvious. The surface of the sample
appears more dried-up than in sample B, with a much softer texture, due to the
higher grade of dehydration of sample A.

2BDay 1 – 17-05-2006 Test K-DES® I

Sample B - Spraying

In sample B we can see a change in colour, however, the smell is not nauseating
andt a slight scent that is common in kidneys is given out. K-DES® smell is not no-
ticeable.

2BDay 1 – 17-05-2006 Test K-DES® I

Sample C - Immersion

As for sample C, the progress is still positive, only the smell of K-DES® can be per-
ceived, not any other strange smell. We can draw the conclusion that as long as the
sample is immersed inside the solution, we won’t see many changes.

As for the texture, the sample is getting harder and harder, what proves the disinfec-
tant and preservative effects of the product.

3BDay 2 – 18-05-2006 Test K-DES® I

Sample B - Spraying

The perceived smell after 48 hours is perfectly tolerable with a strong smell of urine.
If we compare sample B colour with sample A colour, we can clearly see the effect
of the product K-DES®, with sample B having a clearer colour. With the results be-
fore us, we can say that if a better result is to be got, it would be interesting to carry
out the test with a wider application in order to further prevent the effects of putrefac-
tion. In the next two pictures we can see the effect of a bigger contact interface be-
tween the sample and the product.

Sample C - Immersion

After 48 hours from the start of the test, the state of sample C is perfect. We cannot
percieve any big change in smell (it is not bothering or disgusting). It has got the
characteristic smell of K-DES®, even smoother.

Day 3 – 19-05-2006

Next ones are the pictures taken around 80 hours from the start of the test, having
an air temperature of 20ºC.

Sample A - Reference

After 80 hours, the smell and colour that are perceived show the grade of decompo-
sition. However, sinced most part of the sample was covered, we could not get a
higher grade of decomposition.

For the reasons stated above, it was decided to withdraw the sample from the test.
However, in order to keep on showing the product K-DES® efficiency, it was decided
to make a disection of the sample and to put it into a solution of K-DES®, so that we
could check the effect in bodies after the process of decomposition had started.

The next two pictures show the internal state of decomposition of the non-treated
sample.

P5190213

REFERENCE – A

This picture was taken after 18 min-

utes of immersion in K-DES® . The
sample started to get clearer, the
smell was reduced considerably and
became tolerable. Product smell was
more intense than smell coming from
decomposition.

Sample B - Spraying

As it can be seen from pictures taken from sample B, the colour is still clear and the
smell that is given off from the sample is not unpleasant. We can consider that the
sample stays stable and decomposition effects are not visible.

However, as we can see in the next picture, the internal process of decomposition is
still on.

After 96 hours from the start of the test, a new control was carried out, having an air
temperature of 18ºC.

Sample A – Reference decomposed and immersed in solution

In sample A the changes are very small. We could say that it remains in a good
state. It must be born in mind that sample A is not the reference sample anymore,
but the decomposed kidney that was immersed so that we could check K-DES® ef-
fect on a piece of viscera which is in an advanced stage of decomposition.

These pictures show the effect of K-DES® and its application on decomposed bod-
ies when immersed in a solution.

Sample B - Spraying

Sample B remained in a good state of preservation for 80 hours but, after 96 hours,
the volume of accumulated gases from decomposition was large.

From this results we can draw the conclusion that, in order to apply K-DES® in a
right way, this must be done by pressurized spraying, so that we can get a thick
enough layer that covers the whole surface and so achieve a greater efficiency.

due to the signs of decomposition showed after 96 hours of test.

This way we can observe the effects of K-DES® by being sprayed on the kidney
once the process of decomposition has started and we will see the difference from
the reference.

After a week from the start of the test, 168 hours, a new check was carried out, hav-
ing an air temperature of 20ºC.

Sample A - Reference

As we can see in the next two pictures, sample A has remained unchanged from
the moment of immersion in the K-DES® solution, as a consequence of the stop of
the process of putrefaction. However, we must indicate that in this sample the liquid
of the solution has become thicker than sample C’s, and with a smell of grease that
it is not unpleasant.

Sample B - Spraying

The smell of sample C, once it has been sprayed again, begins to be unpleasant,
though we must make the remark that, despite it was left uncovered, no flies came
around. So we can reckon that the product on the kidney’s surface is not pleasant
for them, due to the repellent effect of the solution.

It’s interesting to remark that, despite the smell indicates the advanced stage of de-
composition of the sample, we can only see that the surface is dry and dark, maybe
as a consequence of leaving it in the open air, this showing the efficiency of the ap-
plication.

Having into account that K-DES® must be used mainly by spraying, in an animal
and sanitary scope, we can draw the conclusion that the results will be acceptable
only if a pressurized spraying is done, all over the surface of the animal, in order to
get a deeper penetration of the solution in the body, having to use a bigger amount
of it in case the process of putrefaction is already on.
