The "International Oil and Gas Symposium and Exhibition (IOGSE-2013)" is organized with a key view to document the contribution and impact of research, development and innovations of the oil and gas industry. IOGSE-2013 aims to promote meaningful interaction, the exchange of ideas and experiences between academia, policy makers and industry players through the following channels: i. By presenting and discussing their research and development work related to both fundamental and applications in a wide range of interdisciplinary fields which include upstream, middle stream, downstream, and also on safety, environmental and manpower issues; and

The objectives of this symposium are: 1. To contribute towards the sustainability of the growth of the Sabah oil and gas industry. 2. To share the current updates on research and development of the oil and gas industry.

Through the delivery of relevant papers and speeches on key issues highlighted by representatives from the academia, policy makers, oil and gas companies and supply industries, a common platform can be established as a focal point to review and discuss strategies and explore the potential ways to expedite the development of oil and gas industry in Sabah. The symposium and exhibition will include a technical program consisting of parallel tracks of oral and poster presentation sessions of the original (unpublished) accepted papers based on current topics and an exhibition. Through this symposium and exhibition, participants will have the opportunity to exchange new ideas and experiences, as well as to establish research and business networking with global oil and gas partners for future collaboration.

To be a common platform where the academia, policies makers and industry players can review and discuss on the strategies and potential ways to expedite the development of the oil and gas industry in Sabah. 4.
