Humor in the Workplace In the spirit of National Humor Month, I thought I'd take the opportunity to share a few

benefits of laughter and humor. While you may have heard that humor is infectious and laughter is contagious, did you know that:
National Alcohol Awareness Month

Laughter triggers physical changes- Laughter can relieve physical tension, can relax muscles for up to 45 minutes, and is one of the most effective abdominal workouts. Twenty minutes of laughter is considered a cardiovascular workout. Laughter boosts the immune system- Laughter increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies, increasing resistance to disease. Laughter also helps prevent heart disease. Laughter increases well-being- Laughter is one of easiest ways to release serotonin and dopamine, which boosts moods instantly. Laughter eases anxiety and fear, and enhances resilience.

Ramunno is involved in Eagle Valley High School's Devils Against Destructive Decisions, or DADD, a student group that partakes in alcohol and drug awareness and coordinates safe, healthy activities for students. One of the most memorable activities for Ramunno was the inaugural 4/20 anti-drug rally in Edwards last spring. "I really enjoyed helping offer alternative activities for local teens who want to have fun without getting high or wasted." Ramunno also serves as Vice President of Student Council, plays lacrosse and football, and enjoys hunting. Through his involvement, Ramunno hopes to make the community a better place. One of the most impactful lessons he has learned from serving others is that, "there will always be people you don't agree with, but that shouldn't matter as long as you stay true to what you believe".

Saturday, April 20th will mark the 2nd annual 4/20 event put together in part by local high school students. Both the Devils Against Destructive Decisions (DADD) and Be a Sober Eagle Valley Land Trust: Monitoring and Education Husky (BASH) student groups have taken Program leadership in coordinating this fun, family friendly event which will include a free cookout, free activities, motivational speakers, The Eagle Valley Land Trust has been an important member of a sports tournament, an open gym, rock this community for over 30 years. What: Girl Rising tells the stories of 9 extraordinary girls from 9

What: Karen Nolasco serves as a mentor with SOS Outreach and her University Program students created an event to help raise awareness about drugs and alcohol. '101 Things to do Besides Drugs' will include fun activities such as trampoline jumping, rock climbing, dodge ball, bingo and more!
