OVERVIEW
The Office of Financial Managements mission is to provide leadership, direction, and information to support and improve government on behalf of the people of Washington. In light of this mission, Statewide Accounting provides fiscal and administrative leadership, direction, information and assistance to state agencies to support them in meeting their goals and fulfilling their responsibilities. Statewide Accounting promotes accountability and transparency by administering statewide policies and producing statewide reports to fulfill federal and state requirements. State Financial Consultants serve state agencies by providing consulting services and are delegated responsibility to identify, plan, coordinate, and implement all necessary financial consultant services for program areas with limited statewide impact. State Financial Consultants also participate in the preparation of the states Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). State Financial Consultants report to the Assistant Director of the Accounting Division. OFM is currently recruiting for 3 State Financial Consultants. In addition to the duties noted above: One position is responsible for the production of the State Single Audit Report and maintaining federal accounting and reporting policies; federal training and back-up for the Treasury-State Agreement. One position is responsible for the production of the Annual Audit Resolution Report and related policies; inventory policies and related training; and various analytical review activities. One position is responsible for e-commerce policies, and lead on implementation GASB Statement 68 Accounting and Financial Reporting for Pensions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in business administration, public administration, accounting or related field with 24 semester/36 quarter hour of accounting course work or a certification as a public accountant. Five years of professional experience in budgeting, accounting, auditing or financial reporting. In depth familiarity with Washington State laws, regulations, and administrative/accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have: Ability to listen to others and gain an understanding of issues; Ability to build rapport and partner with others; Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision and be accountable to produce quality work in a timely manner; Excellent communication skills; Organization and time management skills; A commitment to customer service.
