INDIACTION CONTRAINDICATION

Antipyretics
Antagonizes the effect of histamine at H1 receptor site; does not bind to or inactive histamine. Anticholinergic effects are minimal and sedation is dose. Decreased symptoms of histamine excess. (sneezing, rhinorrhea, ocular tearing and redness) Inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins that may serve as mediators of pain and fever.
I: Relief of allergic symptoms caused by histamine release including Seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis or chronic urticaria. C: Hypersensitivity and acute attacks of asthma
SIDE EFFECT/ ASVERSE EFFECT CNS: Dizziness, drowsiness and fatigue. EENT: Pharyngitis GI: Dry Mouth
NURSING INTERVENTION
Assess allergy symptoms before and periodically during therapy. Assess lung sounds and character of bronchial secretion. Instruct patient to contact health care professional if dizziness occurs or if symptoms persist.
Advise patient that good oral hygiene. I: mild pain and fever. Hematological, skin and other allergic reaction. Monitor the temperature. Note the presence of associated symptoms.

Anti-infective
C: Hypersensitivity to cephalosporin.
SIDE EFFECT/ ASVERSE EFFECT Seizures, pain at MI site, Allergic reaction and hemolytic anemia.
NURSING INTERVENTION Assess patient for infection. Monitor prothrombin time and assess patient for bleeding.

Antihistamines
Diphenhydramine is an antihistamine used for treating allergic reactions. Histamine is released by the body during several types of allergic reactions and to a lesser extent during some viral infections, such as the common cold.

DRUG STUDY CLASSIFICATION MECHANISM OF ACTION All agents suppress inflammation and the normal immune response. INDIACTION CONTRAINDICATION I: chronic use in other situations is limited because of mineralocorticoid activity. SIDE EFFECT/ NURSING ASVERSE INTERVENTION EFFECT Depression , Assess patient for headache, signs of adrenal nausea, vomiting insufficiency.
MEDICATION
Corticosteroids
BRAND NAME: Cortef DOSAGE/ ROUTE: 100mg (75mg) IV C: Active untreated infection.
Immunoglobulin
Replacement therapy for primary and secondary immunodeficiency, specific passive immunotherapy, and management of specific inflammatory and/or immunologic disorders.
Monitor for signs of adverse reactions or allergies. Educate patients about the IVIG Therapy.
