The Pulse 2.0 release is packed with new features that enhance operator productivity and situational awareness, offer important cyber security protection enhancements, and high availability during emergency situations when complete system and network failure occur. Pulse is compatible with the latest operating systems such as Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012, in addition to working in a virtual environment such as Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware.
Cyber security protection enhancements PULSE 2.0 now offers next-generation Cyber Security protection capabilities that can be used for advanced SCADA/HMI applications which focus on security and protection Maximized hardening using Embedded Windows 7 operation system setting both on Client and Server side, providing stricter security settings. Supporting NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) security level guidelines. Applying BitLocker Mechanism on Windows 7 allows full encryption of Hard-disk partitions and Portable USB Drives. DEP (Data Execution Prevention) Activation mechanism which protects against Buffer Overflow attacks and security hole exploits in the operating system. EWF enables hard disk writes protection which prevents saving changes to hard disk by saving all changes in memory and restores after restart the operating system. White List protection both on Client and Server which locks the operating systems ability to run unauthorized Process and blocks the user from overwriting files in folders. Obfuscation - Client side is fully obfuscated and scrambled preventing any hackings form bypassing security authorizations and privileges. Pulse Mobile edition Pulse Mobile is a standard Android application designed to extend the monitoring and control of Pulse projects over a cellular/Wi-Fi network using a standard smart phone. Observability and control of alarms and historical trends. View detailed reports & graphs for all RT-Data in your project. Emergency Management from anywhere for rapid distribution of alarms to engineers on site. Multisite administration. Share alarms, reports, charts and snapshots via e-mail/SMS. Smart Cell and Master Block Smart Cell is a reusable multifunctional component in HMI applications including graphical and database functionality. Derived from base block types (Analog Value, Digital Value, Alarm blocks etc.,). Save engineering time, reduce costs, risk and project schedule. Defined actual block with fixed field values, and free field (Arguments) contains default values. Pulse will let the user create a block from any Master Block. Only free fields will be exposed for editing when modifying a block created out of a Master Block. Pulse delivers built-in Master Blocks that are used in Smart Cells compatible with UAG SCoDS.

DRC (Disaster Recovery Control) The new Pulse DRC server feature designed to assure system operation when both Pulse servers (Primary and Redundant) fail or in case of catastrophic power, facility or network connection failure. Operate as an independent station which performs operations connecting to the field and serves as a backup emergency terminal or as a hot redundancy backup server. The Pulse DRC station can retain the system operational (monitor and control SCADA controllers). Connects to the primary server and keeps a snapshot of the system, database and operating state. Pulse DRC provides operators full client functionality in order to monitor and control system operations.

Event Manager Enhancements Pulse Event Manager helps control room operators respond efficiently to events by providing access to critical information, step by step procedures and real-time availability of human resources. Supports all major functionalities for integration with Safe-City projects critical demands. Supports operator generated events. Added new Work-Flows inductions such as visual indication on suspension periods, Tasks due time and Tasks close. Added Acknowledge block and assigning a user to an event by a supervisor permission. Added User Events which support Start and Close Actions and workflows.
