The Wonderful World of Westfeldt

The Westfeldt Center is a multi -use welcoming center named in honor of Thomas and Louise Westfeldt, who made generous donations to both the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts in Western North Carolina. This Camp Pisgah centerpiece is uniquely designed and has even won architectural awards! This lodge structure is open year-round for weekend troop camping, service unit camporees, and many other special events. At Westfeldt Center, you can play games and participate in other activities under the covered porch area, or use the stage to put on a live performance for your peers! You can cook like a Top Chef in the galley kitchen, or make smores with your girl pals using the indoor fireplace or the outdoor fire pit located behind the Westfeldt Center. In the late Spring thru summer months, take a dip in our junior Olympic-size pool to cool off! In the summer and during special events, like Arto-Rama, get creative in the art studio or make a tye-dye shirt on the back patio. And when youve had enough activity and its time to rest those heavy eyes, you can climb the colorful, spiral staircase to the sleeping quarters situated in our amazing loft space. Finally, when its time to head back home, say gbye to the hardworking staff in the office and stop by the Trading Post to purchase camp memorabilia.

Ask Terrapin!
Myles Mathis How big is this camp? . And why cant boys come? April 1 at 7:36pm

Thanks for the questions, Myles. Camp Pisgah sits on 160 acres of woodland in Brevard, NC just outside the Pisgah National Forest. Just imagine the football field of your favorite professional team now imagine 121 of those football fields laying side-by-side! THAT is how big Camp Pisgah, so to speak! As for your second question well, Myles Camp Pisgah is an all-girls camp, founded 60 years ago by local girl scouts and has been a part of the scouting experience in the region ever since. Boys are invited to special events, like Family Fun Day in June and Family Camp in August. Otherwise, this is a girls only zone! Sorry.

Like Camp Pisgah on Facebook and post your questions for Terrapin. Your question just may be selected to be featured in the Terrapin Times!
